Fantastic meal (again) in a wonderful establishment and setting. My wife and I enjoyed all courses of her birthday meal out. Having been notified of the special occasion, a table was reserved at a balcony looking into the harbour. Brilliant. I enjoyed the plump, fresh sardines whilst my wife caught a veritable shoal if whitebait. 18 of them! They are not skimpy with portions here. Substantial and flavoursome main courses followed. I thought my smoked salmon and aubergine linguine was knock-out (lots of succulent slabs of salmon) but the pollock (big fillet) and prawn (loads of juicy ones) curry was stunning (with a bunch of samphire and the most exquisite coconut flavour). Having shared a morsel of her naan bread, she narrowly failed to empty the rice bowl. Home made lemon maringue and chocolate and walnut brownie (just like brownies should be) were accompanied by Mario's vanilla ice cream. The superb meal was celebrated by excellent coffees: latte and flat white. And all for £70! Shhh .... don't tell anyone. Lets keep this gem to ourselves. 😊

Such a beautiful place with a nice atmosphere to visit for a drink in the bar, or a meal in the restaurant upstairs, overlooking the harbour. Staff were all inviting and friendly. I ordered off the specials menu, Whole Plaice (£20), but unfortunately they missed off the asparagus which was disappointing due to the meals being on the pricey side. And I only had the chance to tell them this after the meal had been eaten. However they did offer £2.00 off the bill to apologise… My partner ordered the Rump Steak (£25) which he loved, cooked perfectly to his preference. The lemon meringue pie (£7) was nice, however found that the flavour was overpowered by the mango sauce that covered the entire plate. So made it impossible to taste the pie itself… Good place for a cocktail, (they have a happy hour 5-6pm) a bit of cake and a meal, but expect to pay a bit more money! Overall 4/5.

Me and my husband went for an anniversary dinner. Managed to get the table next to the window with a stunning view (even if you don’t get it, the place is still nicely decorated) I had the red snapper special and hubby had the burger. We absolutely loved it!!! I had a bit of the burger and all I can say is don’t you guys change a thing, best burger I ever had!!! All I could say is “damn this is really really good” And I cook ALOT at home and it takes something special for me to 5 stars. Staff were lovely and friendly, great service with a smile. Keep up the good work and we really hope to be back there soon.

Myself and my Husband visited to the Bluebell a couple of years ago when we were in New Quay, and had such a good vegan meal which was creative and fresh. We returned over bank holiday weekend, hoping for a similar experience but unfortunately found it had really gone downhill in terms of vegan options.

We didn't eat there in the evening due to this and went somewhere else with better options instead, but visited for breakfast as the plant based breakfast advertised on their menu online sounded good.

When we got there, we found that the breakfast menu on their website wasn't up to date & the waitress said they no longer offered plant based saugages & had recently replaced them with glamorgan instead, which aren't suitable for anyone vegan.

We were disappointed with this but decided to order as wrongly assumed they must add on extras, to replace the egg & glamorgan sausages they removed to make it plant based, but when it arrived it was really small & just consisted of a few roasted tomatoes, 1 flat mushroom, a small amount of beans,a few tator tot sized hashbrowns, some guacamole (instead of avocado as advertised) which tasted pre packaged & a dry piece of toast with no spread on. Nothing extra had been added, like additional mushrooms / another piece of toast etc, and having no spread on the toast felt like a pretty poor effort.

Even though no extras were offered or given to replace the items they removed from the veggie breakfast, they still charged the same price as their standard veggie breakfast. When we queried this with a staff member when paying, we were told that they "had never thought of it before" so checked with the chef but he was told that it was the same price regardless. The waiter said he would feedback to the manager as we said we were disappointed with the breakfast & felt it needed to either be cheaper or have extra items added to make it worth the same price.

The place itself is lovely, has a beautiful view over the harbour, and does great drinks but we unfortunately we couldn't recommend the food to anyone vegan, unless the menu was updated in the future to be more creative and inclusive for the...

Rang up and asked if we could book a window seat, was told not allowed to specifically book window seats and that we can just have one if available. Thought that’s fair enough, even said they’d leave a note saying ‘window seat if available’ which I appreciated. Got there on the Saturday night, showed us to our table, noticed there was a window seat available (both the table we’d been shown to and the window one were the same size). I explained to the waitress that I’d requested a window seat and was told if there was one available we could have it, she said she would go and ask the manager/owner. He came out and just waffled on making some excuse as to why he couldn’t give it us, even now I don’t really know what his reason was as the tables were exactly the same size. About half an hour later another couple came in and they were seated there. They had one meal, a couple of drinks and promptly left. Me and my gf both had 3 courses, a bottle of wine and a cocktail, so it was annoying to see the other couple be favourited when we’d spent significantly more. Even more annoying was the fact no one was reseated at the table the whole time we were there. The whole seating situation is obviously my main gripe, but I could have probably forgive it if everything else was great. But the food was poor and when we finished our starters we were left with the dirty plates in front of us for 30-40 mins while employees chatted away at other tables to people they clearly knew. I think it’s just one of those places that looks after it’s regulars - which is fine and I completely understand that in a small town - just wish they’d been honest and said that to us. So if you’re just visiting New Quay I wouldn’t recommend. We tried the Pepper Pot which is just round the corner the following night, food was much better and staff were far more accommodating- highly...

This is my third time eating at this restaurant, and I've not yet been disappointed. I came this evening with my daughter her husband and my two young grandsons, the youngest is autistic, but because the tables are spaced out well, it's not too crowded, and he had a window he could look out of, he was happy. The staff went above and beyond this evening. My daughter is a very fussy eater, and it was no trouble to them at all to adapt things slightly for her. She was struggling to cut her steak, not because it wasn't cooked to absolute perfection, but because she has dislocated her thumb, because the staff are so vigilant, they noticed her struggling and gave her a steak knife. The food was amazing. I much prefer the steak medallions, pure fillet steak, which we all loved. We ordered puddings... where to start? For anyone who loves a pudding, my goodness, this is your place. We all had something different, and all loved the attention to presentation, and by far, the best puddings I've ever tasted. Well done to the chef's .The waitresses who are all so friendly, and always a service with a smile. The gentleman that was there, I think, may be the owner, ensuring everything was run smoothly and making sure all the customers left with a smile. The staff even brought out extra strawberries for my grandsons. We will most definitely be back. Highly...
