We pre-booked a table and were directed to our table when arrived. Lady at the bar was polite. Good start. We ordered our meals but then after quite some time a member of staff came out to notify me that my chosen dish was not available and to choose another. I chose another dish only to be told 5 minutes later that they had also ran out of this choice. I therefore chose the same dish as my husband. We waited a further 30-40 minutes for our food which was not ideal with a hungry 6 year old. The member of staff said they would take 20% off the bill as a gesture which I accepted. Another member of staff also asked if I would like a drink on the house so I thanked her and had a small glass of wine. The first member of staff came back later to say that as I had had a drink he would now not give me 20% off the bill. Everything felt very disorganised and I felt it was unfair for him to go back on his offer. The glass of wine certainly was not equivalent to 20% of our total bill. It's also not my fault that these colleagues could not communicate properly with each other. The food eventually came out and the portion sizes were very small with some things missing. The chips were cold and the accompanying garnish was very limp. We also noticed that a table next to us who arrived about 10 minutes after us were only getting their food just as we were leaving and my husband and son had also had puddings. I appreciate it was busy but I felt there was no organisation and the food was really poor for what we paid. I certainly don't think we will be going back and judging by the faces of the other guests I don't think many of them will either. Such a pity as it's such a...

Black smudge on shower skirting board , thick dust ontop of sink light .All just needs washing . Unscrew bathroom light and get all black bits out .Would of been nice to have cleaned before customer arrives , i saw as soon as walked in the bathroom so dont know how cleaners miss this . Very cheap thin toilet rolls. Good breakfasts .Main food ok . Lee behind bar smiley and friendly as was barman with ponytail . Bar was nice , love the touch of fairy lights but the white chairs were very black ( dirty from hands) again need washing or repainting . Dog friendly place so thats good .    Read moreWe have been coming to New quay for years and always called in for a drink and sometimes we had food but on this visit I was very surprised as to how much this place had gone down. We arrived and was hoping to get a table outside but there weren't any free..not with people sitting at them but left over food and drinks from previous visitors. We counted four tables full plus people who did have seats there tables were also not looking nice and Plates not been cleared from them either. We went in for a drink and managed to get a table at the back. The table was very sticky and coverd in food and old drink rings. The two tables by the bar were piled high with glasses whilst 2 members of staff just stood behind the bar. We decided to go and sit outside on the wall. Food was being brought outside to customers but staff were going back into the pub empty handed??Why didn't they take empty plates from tables with them so people could sit at clean ables without having to find somewhere to put them. It is such a shame as it's in a prime location with lovely views. We heard others saying that it was often like that which is a shame. Hopefully by the time we call again it will...
