Please I urge people to go and visit the store and ignore the bad reviews made by people who were probably discriminating against sexuality, race or just having a bad day and it all got took out of context. Neil and the team have always been fantastic with my mother and I. She drives from Oxfordshire just to use the shop. I have witnessed how considerate they are to people with disabilities, people who are in their older years and people who just need a bit more time spent with them. It is a shop you walk in and can just pick something up pay and walk out by looking at very clearly labelled items. It is also a unique shop where you can go in say you want a dress for an occasion, a bag to go with a dress you just bought from m and s, or a few dresses to make you feel good about yourself. You wont just get a quick this is the price it'll look lovely on you. What you will get is a detailed talk about the dress where from, encouraged to try it on with the guidance oh and offered a drink. There is no rush. An hour can quickly pass when you are being shown options! I would always advise booking though as as you can imagine with that vip treatment you may have to wait otherwise. Once there though they will look after you as if you are the most important rich person even if you arent sure you can afford to buy today. There is no pressure. Neil tells you what style looks particularly good on your figure and will say if a piece just does nothing for you. Well, my experience at Riley in Redditch recently was unforgettable but for all the wrong reasons. I went in to browse the rails, tried on something that was too big and was then accosted by Neil(?). Although he'd never seen me in his life before he assured me that he was going to take me 'out of my comfort zone' and proceeded to bring a selection of garments for me to try on. His enthusiasm was matched only by his desire to make me buy something l didn't like or want. At one point he actually opened the fitting room curtain and looked in - this is unacceptable, offensive and an invasion of privacy. I wasn't impressed with the clothes, they were 'one (large) size', meaning they are voluminous on anyone under a size 16, with huge gaping necklines (cheaper than having garments made with zips or collars) - although as Neil kindly pointed out I could buy a scarf to bridge the gap. Neil - let me help you out of your comfort zone. You are not Gok Wan, and even if you were there exist on this planet women who have a sense of style. There are even women who have developed a personal style and know what they want. They do not want someone with no idea of their lifestyle or existing wardrobe to 'put a look together' for them. I'm sure you're a lovely chap but if you want to offer a service your customers might actually want, then you need to add a few simple words to your repertoire - 'Do you need help or are you happy to browse' would cut it. Today I discovered RILEY boutique whilst out and about looking for xmas presents. I am truly amazed and super grateful to Neil.

From the moment we walked in for a quick browse, he was super friendly and made the experience personalised, which in itself is so lovely to see from a shop and customer care.

Upon learning I was after some clothes for a new job (I've always worn uniform and never had the chance to wear my own style) he offered some suggestions based on my height, skin tone and what I was already wearing.

I instantly fell in love with what he was pulling off the shelves and the combinations. After trying the items on, and his help styling outfits in different ways, I can honestly say I felt so happy and comfortable in the clothes I was wearing.

I've never felt so calm, happy and comfortable in a clothes shop before. I'm the girl who walks past clothes I like convinced i cant wear them, or convincing myself I dont need them. I avoid clothes shopping pretty much altogether normally because I'm always so sure I'll just feel awful about myself afterwards. Not today. I felt a million dollars and super confident. The styling and combos just suited my figure. Neil absolutely nailed it.

I cant see me shopping anywhere else! the clothes are gorgeous and high quality, but really reasonably priced too.
