Rhos is a very nice place. The atmosphere on any day is liberating. Whilst Colwyn Bay has improved considerably because of long overdue resources being spent on it, providing visitors with a genuine alternative to Llandudno's more shopper friendly offering, Rhos soldiers on without any Council spending you could visibly see.
That said it is still a beautiful beach and the village shops add a warmth and friendliness that will chime with people who don't come to the seaside to visit a department store.
Given the choice of Porth Eirias v Rhos, I would eat at Bryn's and paddle walk and dream down at Rhos. Finishing up with a coffee and Bread & butter pudding at Nino's. Cappacino no sprinkles. Read moreThis is the find of the North Wales coast. Absolutely fantastic seaside resort. This is a prime example of what a little investment can do for a place. The beach is long and sandy and clean with clear dog zones and no dog zones. A brand new promenade has been built giving Rhos-on-Sea a very Mediterranean feel as you walk down the front. Ample car parking at beach level (currently free June 24) and lots of seating along the promenade. I especially like all the modern sculptures and thing like solar powered charging seats. Along the beach is more than enough cafes, bars, restaurants and other activities like a park, swimming pool, crazy golf.
