Avoid.. We called in for lunch and decided on a prawn sandwich each then to be told they had no prawns.. maybe keep staff informed what’s available before they give the menu.. so it was a vegan breakfast and pancakes with fruit didn’t want the bacon as I dont eat meat.. I asked the waitress what fruit it was she told me blueberries and strawberries she then came out to inform me they had no strawberries.. Vegan breakfast arrived not great I can serve better looking breakfasts the sausages where under cooked a load of mushrooms and 4 half’s of tomato beans in pot and avocado smashed in a pot which was really cold and all was served on a really large plate so it didn’t look very attractive just looked like a plate of mushrooms and tomatoes.. my partner ordered brown toast which I had to chase up and when did arrive it was white and under toasted it was more like bread and the spread lay on the top.. it could have been presented much better.. I then had to get up again and tell them it was white not brown to be informed they have no brown left as it’s late in the day.. 2pm !! My pancakes came sadly with bacon on it how hard can this be.. I had to get up yet again to return to me hearing the waitress telling the chef she asked for no bacon.. I said no worries I will wait for another to be made.. I had to get up again for S&P and ask for sauce.. while I waited for my pancakes a blonde haired elderly woman come out and ask am I still waiting for my food.. it’s only a small cafe how did she not know this.. I told her to forget it all been such hard work I just wanted to leave.. I then told her about the issues and mentioned I had a cafe and it shouldn’t be this hard.. She then came back with a smart reply was it’s easy to complain then.. very professional!!! My reply was no I don’t complain when it’s right.. I only took one picture this could have been presented so...
Read moreSadly after being recommended Marmalade I was disappointed. The staff are lovely, the venue nice ....the food ...disappointing . The vegan pate platter was a pot of vegan spread ( margarine) 1 pot of pate 2 slices of gherkin, 4 small pickle onions , a a tiny pot of onion relish ( nice ) and a few pieces of "artisan " bread . £10.95 ??? For a pot of mushroom( I think as no real taste ) pate . £2 for a small plastic bottle of water ( average 50p ) . The butter bean stew was very average and a small portion . The rice and spinach was so soggy I thought it was mash . £10.95 . On top of that just before we were leaving a "covid divider " was put so close to my back i could barely get off my stool . What was weird was that we had sat there whilst another couple had eaten a full meal without the boundary ? Whilst that may have been a hospital thing to do for the couple sat down absolutely no consideration was given to how closed in we felt nor were we consulted which would have at least been courteous. Sadly as much as the staff are pleasant the food was below average and...
Read moreA real shame... We came here a whole ago and had a wonderful experience, however for whatever reason today everything slipped and was a disaster. The staff were nice and helpful, and everything was great until the food arrived.
The eggs on the meals I had with my family were massively undercooked, the white couldn't hold together and was as runny as the yolk, it was a wonder it was white. The avacado on the toast was supposed to be smashed, however it was hard and cut, and the goats cheese wasn't a full round and was cut badly.
The garlic mushrooms on toast wasn't garlic mushrooms on toast but rather a bowl of mushrooms in garlic sauce with toast and butter on the side.
The ÂŁ11 fried chicken burger had the smallest chicken in it and wasn't crispy, the salad was poor on the burger itself, and the bun was also not very impressive either.
Overall a very disappointing experience. It was busy, but there were still some...
