Spent a lovely Saturday morning here, a building full of history. On entering I was stunned by the beauty of the wooden and glass fixtures of a Chemist shop from Cardiff Docks, shelves were filled with old glass, tins and cardboard boxes with medicines, chemicals and photography equipment from the old days. The next room was set up as an lecture room, with artefacts st up around the outside, including the a picture of the very first bus with a car radio from 1928. We were on a personal ancestry journey to find out more about our grandmothers life in Risca. The guys did some independent research and not only gave us lots of interesting information and local history, but arranged for us to visit the local church Moriah, the cemetery and a walking tour through Risca where our ancestors lived. Tremendous variety given the space, so much to talk about and the volunteers were knowledgeable and extremely courteous to children.
