Commercial Inn — Restaurant in Wales

Disgraceful staff member. Went with my family last week, the girl with the dark hair was absolutely lovely but the blonde girl with the fake eyelashes was awful. The blonde girl put down one of our orders wrong so one of us had to sit and wait 10 minutes while we ate before they could eat. We then ordered 3 desserts but only 2 came out to us, so when we said that there was a third dessert but it turns out the blonde girl hadn't put down we ordered 3 deserts despite taking payment for the 3 desserts. We were polite, never rude or anything just wanted what we paid for. Then the 3 of us went to the toilet and the blonde girl was talking to her friend (who was visiting the pub as a customer) blatantly about us as we walked past and her friend followed us into the toilet to listen and see if we were going to say anything about the girl who served us (she literally just stood there and stared at us and left when we did) but why?? She got our orders wrong, we politely corrected it and that was that. Its not that deep. Shouldn't be working in the industry if she is going to take getting an order wrong that personally. The dark haired girl again was so lovely and apologetic, didn't need to be, mistakes happen and we all make them. But after the blonde girl sent her friend in the toilets after us all I can say is my experience was absolutely disgusting and will not be going back as that girls behaviour was atrocious and...

This lunchtime we visited the Commercial Inn at Risca for our usual Xmas lunch outing. The pub was as usual decorated very well without going over the top. The new chef, Tom is now in situ and my wife and I started with a prawn & salmon salad which was excellent. This was followed by a modern day twist on the traditional Xmas turkey which went down well. The dessert was a white chocolate & hazelnut cheesecake which proved to be the star of the show. This is a decent pub within risca but it’s such a shame that they aren’t fully dog friendly, we’d love to take our money here but unfortunately had to go elsewhere as dogs are only able to go outside the pub and can’t go inside, it would be great to see maybe a trial done even if it’s just in the evenings on week days where they can go inside as long as they are well behaved, not an option to leave part of the family at home :( I hope you reconsider this and join the others and give it a try as you’d see our group much more often,...
