I went to the statue with my four year old as a away to learn a bit of history. It was a very wet, rainy October day and there are no paved paths so I had to carry him on my shoulders. It's not very accessible either; you're not getting up there in a wheelchair. But you can get pretty close to the statue itself, it's fairly spectacular, and the parking is free.

It is worth seeing this. The statue is absolutely huge. There are several places to walk nearby and the statue is near a big field. The statue is fenced off, but it is still a joy to see. One has to walk up a bit of a hill (there are stairs, as photographed) to see the statue up close.

Quite surprised to come across this huge statue of Wellington on his horse on a high mound in the middle of a field. Apparently Queen Victoria didn't like it in Central London so asked the army to move it elsewhere...so they did

A very good place to run, walk, and explore. Along with the statute. It's not a museum, but a statue instead π
