A great way to learn about some local history - I learnt more about Kirkintilloch's past in 30 minutes there than I have in living around here for a decade. It's small but perfectly formed - take a look around, then grab a coffee from one of the local cafes and go for a wander around Peel Park for a peaceful morning. It's free to enter, but remember to leave a wee donation if you can!

Great eclectic museum covering aspects of Kirkintilloch's history back to Roman times, housed in the town's historic church building. Helpful museum staff member was cream on the top of this free museum.

First time visiting Kirkintilloch. Came upon a small museum with very interesting history. Right in the town centre.

We have arrived here to learn about the story of Rita Cowan who was the wife Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of the Japanese Nikka whiskey distillery. Their story was brought to life in a recent Japanese TV drama series. The exhibition tells their story including a display of Mrs. Taketsuru's kimono. I have also learned a lot about the history of the town in the museum. The staff was also very friendly...

Went in to have a wee look at the photography competition exhibition and saw a host of wonderful and varied images. The custodian took my details for test and trace? and it was done quickly. The young lady just had to wait a wee while until l retrieved my mobile number. Worth a visit if you...
