TL;DR: Garioch Heritage Centre is a fantastic stop in Inverurie with well-organized exhibits, a cozy café, and staff (thank you Andrew!) who truly bring history to life.
Garioch Heritage Centre was an amazing stop on my Inverurie adventure. I started with a quick toastie at the café before heading upstairs to explore the historical displays. The exhibits are thoughtfully arranged and packed with fascinating details about the area’s past.
The best part of my visit was Andrew. He caught up with me at the Queen Victoria exhibit and shared so much knowledge about the town, making the experience even more special. I truly appreciate the time he took to chat, as it added so much depth to my visit.
This Centre is a must-visit for anyone interested in local history. The welcoming atmosphere and incredible staff make it a truly memorable stop....

Once again, I was delighted that George, a volunteer, came with me to explain some of the exhibits. There is a lot to see and read up about it is so interesting. I really liked the story about the Aberdeen Canal (1805 - 1852), and the recovery of the last canal boat which is proudly on display. If you intend to visit give yourself time to take in all you will see. There is also a small cafe which is also run by volunteers and it was really good. Well and truly...
