This place is a Goldmine of information and interesting stories during the Covid-19 pandemic this museum has put in place a red / green light system to allow people in and out safely, with hand sanitiser on the left when you enter. The entrance fee we thought was well priced at £4 per adult (we paid the £4.40 for gift aid) we watched the video on the main website so we knew what to expect when navigating the museum. The displays were well laid out and full of facts and interesting stories as well as an outside labyrinth our kids had fun for a 6 and 7 year old. We would recommend this place if you plan to stay in Dornoch. Thank you so much to the lady on the main desk for taking the time to make us feel safe.

We visited the Museum yesterday, kids enjoyed the dressing up, and I enjoyed learning more about the 5th (Sutherland & Caithness) Battalion, The Seaforth Highlanders. Everyone Happy! Small Museum but very well laid out, also features a small research area with local history books etc, museum shop's items were very reasonably priced.Kind We did not pre book tickets and just paid at the door.Kind Overall an excellent wee local museum!

What a lovely welcoming museum, lots of stuff going on in this small building and the fee is modest too (kids go free). Some great kids stuff there with an active young people's group too.

This might look small from the outside but boy does it pack a punch inside ! There is so much to see and engage with. There is even a quiz to do to follow the golden imps, there are 23 to find with the key info to spot for their quiz. My older 2 lived this while my younger one was hands on with he various points , building block to rebuild the church , puppet show , puzzle part , dressing up , video to watch. It goes through history and lots to learn. There was also a hands on guess whats in the box section with I think it was 9 to guess and see if you're right for each when you leave. Lovely staff. And your ticket is valid for a week not bad , when it is £4.50 for adults and kids are free! When they complete their quiz they get a picture postcard and a sticker. Such a wonderful one to engage...

Not one for museums really but this one was quite interesting and even had a section for the younger generation. Lots of interesting facts about the history of Dornoch and its locality; the staff are really friendly and welcoming. Not only does the £4 adult entrance get you into the museum, the fee also permits you to re- enter the museum for that whole week. On top of that, Historylinks Museum provides you with a 1.5 hour guided walking tour of Dornoch on a Tuesday afternoon commencing at 2pm! This was a well worthwhile walk/tour. Very happy with the service. Thank you so much Lyn, you were an...
