Tasty Gem in the Heart of Dornoch We stopped by Surf & Turf during our time in Dornoch and it ended up being one of the best food spots of our trip! It's a small, cozy little place with a lovely relaxed vibe — and the food is absolutely delicious. You can tell everything is made fresh, with real care. We had one of their seafood specials — so tasty, perfectly cooked, and full of flavour. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. It’s proper comfort food, done really well. The young lady serving us was so friendly and welcoming — even though it was busy, she made time for a quick chat and kept everything moving smoothly with a smile. It’s clearly a popular place (and for good reason), so you might have to wait a little, but it’s more than worth it. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Dornoch — whether for a full meal or just something quick and tasty to take away. One of those places that feels like a hidden gem, but you’ll be so glad you found it!

My family and I stopped by to have lunch here in June 2025. We had been eyeing this eatery the day before when we passed by after lunch at a nearby cafe. We vowed to return the next day, and it was a wise decision indeed! The Cullen Skink soup was superb. Served in a deep paper cup, the soup was rich, not only in taste but also in ingredients—potatoes, smoked haddock, cheese, etc. The lobster roll was another gem. The roll was substantial, fresh, and tastefully prepared. The Mexican-styled haddock tacos were equally fresh and delicious. The fish & chips were fresh, huge and appetizing! Another point of interest is that this restaurant uses no plastic. Every utensil uses paper, including the straw. This eatery is truly a gem and is a must-stop if we ever travel through Dornoch again in the future.

We are doing the NC500 road trip in our camper and were eager to try Surf & Turf after watching them on TV/youtube. A warm welcome awaited, with a Lovely smiley lady serving 😀 I was eager to try brioche bun & lobster, fries and salad, whilst my husband chose fish, fries snd mushy peas. They both tasted amazing!!, the quality of the ingredients, the cooking evrrything was hot and presentation was epic. Well worth our 480 miles journey. The lady was so cheery, offering to take my photo with lobster haha..it was brilliant experience. Everyone was chatting with each other...we sat outside with our dog- who even got a little biscuit. 20 out of 10 experience. Highly reccommended. Well exceeded our expectations.

Wow 😮 i definitely understand the hype around Lobster as never tried it before. It was Lovely. The sauce the lobster was in tasted of cajun and like a prawn cocktail sauce. Ive never had Lobster before but it’s definitely the best kind of fish ive ever tasted.

The Lobster kinda tastes like a Scallop or like a sweetcorn taste to it but it tasted more in the Prawn family. It tasted like a scallop and a prawn. Its really hard to describe. It was kinda chewy but it was really nice. The Lobster roll was incredible and in a brioche roll. The Lobster had a nice salty taste to it.

I think it was a prawn cocktail sauce with mayonnaise and paprika or maybe cajun. Not spicy with chilli powder or anything. I absolutely Loved the Lobster roll So id give 5 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Chips

They were good chips, They tasted very Potatoey. The chips were like a very fancy version of McDonalds Fries. They tasted a million times better than McDonalds fries and just really tasty. The chips were even better dipped into the lobster roll sauce.

The chips were hot and crispy and really nice and you can really taste potato from them so l'd give 5 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Salad

The salad was lettuce, peppers and tomato and a lemon but all tasted very fresh. The salad was really nice. The salad had a really nice dressing as well.

The lettuce, the peppers and tomatoes and lemon and dressing was lovely so id give it a 5 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Travelled from Inverness to try your Lobster Rolls after seeing you on FB. To be honest I was slightly disappointed. I loved the idea that you caught your own Lobsters therefore I was delighted to try Scottish Lobster. Ordered the Lobster Roll which came with Fries and a little salad. I took my Lobster Roll home so I could eat it for supper. The texture of the little bits of Lobster that were in the Roll was perfect. When I say little bits I mean little bits. I decided to deconstruct the Roll. It consisted of 6 tiny bits of Lobster Spring onions which there was a lot and mayo. If I didn't know it was meant to be a Lobster Roll I honestly would have thought it was Crab with not much flavour. I must admit I was quite disappointed and embarrassed as my chum insisted on paying the £19.50 it cost. I don't think I will be rushing back. Must admit the place was absolutely spotless. You could have eaten your meal...
