Recently, I attended my first Southport FC game at Haig Avenue, also known as The Big Help Stadium, to watch Southport take on Preston North End. Southport played exceptionally well and clinched the victory, making it a memorable experience and a good first impression for this team. The fans were amazing and incredibly friendly and generous, one was offering free sweets which adds to the fantastic atmosphere.
The stadium itself is decently sized and provides a great view of the action on the pitch. The food options were reasonably priced; I got a tasty burger for £4.50. However, the price for a 500ml Pepsi at £3.50 was a bit steep but I suppose to they've got to make money somewhere
