The park is Fabulous to walk in early morning birds the rabbit ducks squirrel the smell of different plants the trees shades of colour differences in light nature information as working around needs new signs unable to read great information for children asking questions you haven't a clue about they love it play area fabulous for children only thing should have a wooden fence as not all owners keep dogs lead and they pea on bark and open their bowels. The owners are not aware of this I do love dogs you see some fantastic dogs the caffeine is fabulous to sit watch grandchildren play while you have a drink they have cake and the step feature needs gritting and banks in winter so over all it a fabulous place for me and I take my hat off to the hard working staff with council cuts it's had work for them but play area for children should be enclosed dog 🐶 feaces dangerous for children so that's why give 3 as for me...

I visited Sunderland Barnes Park today with my children, hoping for a pleasant day out. However, our experience turned into a nightmare when a group of children not only racially abused us but also attempted to physically attack us. As someone who holds a Golden Visa in the UAE, I'm deeply disappointed and disturbed by this incident.

Public spaces like Sunderland barns Park should be safe and inclusive for everyone, regardless of their background. This incident has left us shaken, and I urge the park authorities to take immediate action to ensure such behavior is not tolerated. Everyone deserves to enjoy public spaces without fear of harassment or violence. It's important to report this incident to both the local authorities and park management. Your safety and the safety of your children should be a priority. If you need any further assistance or resources, please don't...

Barnes Park is accessible, well maintained, and full of wildlife. You may see rabbits, fish, squirrels, foxes, parakeets, birds of all kinds, and the odd sighting of a terrapin in the pond. There is a small cafe with indoor and outdoor seating which serves basic food, ice cream, hot and cold drinks. There is both an infants and older children park which are separate from one another. Toilets are basic but baby change and disabled toilets are also available. There is plenty of seating around the park including some picnic benches. The longest is route takes around 15-20 minutes, but if you’re feeling like more of a walk there are extensions at both sides of the park which are considerably quieter. The park is very dog friendly and you’re likely to see lots of them...

Been going here for years, great place to take the kids and one of the few parks where everyone seems to be polite and respectful of each other, two play areas for the kids, one for younger kids and one for the older ones, lovely cafe area too! There's a bowls green, tennis courts, fountains and sensory garden! Loads of wildlife from Squirrels to Herons and rabbits! Beautiful in the summer but also very colour in Autumn and even more picturesque in winter.
