Nice Park overall. Spread out with different areas. An enclosed childrens park for parents. It's not unusual to find an ice cream van parked here often too. There's a duck pond next to this with benches around. Some people fish in there too. There's plenty of open spaces for dog walking and dog bins dotted around for when required. The space is often where visiting circus stay including all of there caravans. There's concrete tennis courts plus basket ball hoops with a small football goal below making them useful for a range of physical activities. There a small garden area too. The only negative is there is no café to sit or get refreshments nor is there any bathroom facilities. Towards the bottom there is a cheap pay and display carpark. This will be full on match days so be aware. The park is on a very gentle decline with plenty of wide paths which are useful if querying bring large buggies or wheelchairs. The park is situated next to two tram stops (Hillsborough Park at one end and Leppings Lane at the other) plus plenty of buses from different routes passing by and two minutes walk from Hillsborough corner. All of the paths are well lit by street lights. There are plenty of lush green trees and bushes, with lots of wild life from squirrels to birds. large wide open spaces get used for anything from sun bathing to ball sports...

Read moreDon't know why this review is showing under my sons name rather than mine which is Anne Dray. I went to Hillsborough Park on 31 August with 2 small children. It was late lunchtime and we hadn't had lunch so I went to the difficult to find cafe. We went inside to enquire about food and a pleasant waitress showed us to a table outside and gave us a menu. And that was about it. No-one came out to take our order. After around 10 minutes and responding to I'm hungry from the 4 year old I thought perhaps I had to order inside so I gathered up the children and went inside. No its OK someone will come out. Another approx 10 minutes went by at which stage I had had enough. There were about 3 tables in use outside and a queue of around 4 people inside and i think 4 staff behind the counter. I wheeled the children in again. Asked if someone was going to take our order. Yes someone would come out. Which they did. Only for us to find they didn't have anything left on the menu the older child would eat. I was told they had been busy in the morning. Perhaps they had been but they certainly hadn't been busy while we had been waiting. We went and got an ice cream instead. Very...
