Wild and scenic headland walk out from Hope Cove around towards Bolberry Down. The footpaths start in a wooded area near Inner Hope Cove and lead up onto the headland, affording panoramic views around Bigbury Bay. The views from the end of the tail are amazing. There are the remains of an (iron age ?) fort and several paths that criss-cross through the bracken. There are also several decent sea fishing spots although the clamber down (and back up) can be "interesting". A beautiful and relaxing/wild location

Amazing place to go for a walk or just for the view. You get an amazing view of both inner and outer Hope with lovely sunsets (on clear days, of course). It is often very windy on the upper part of the Bolt Tail, but it's lots of fun if you have a coat with a zipper because you can fly like those squirrels !! If you're lucky, you can also spot some dolphins from the end of the Bolt Tail and maybe even some tuna.

An incredibly picturesque coastal location to visit, grassy rolling hills and cliffs with very nice sea views back towards Hope Cove - Good as a destination when walking the cliff path from Thurlestone, or on the way to Salcombe. Just watch your step near the cliff edges, as the hills slope sharply down towards sheer drops in places. Keep your dogs under close control.

Park the car in the NT car park on the down and walk the huge coastal path loop into Hope Cove via Bolt Tail. The paths are extremely open and accessible and sweep through open grassland with the most scenic views on a clear blowsy day. Stay away from the very cliff edges for huge gusts of wind blowing up off the sea can catch you unaware. No tickets needed other than in...
