Mouthwell Sands — Local services in South Hams

A nice safe beach for very young children. Sheltered with cliffs and high walls it us easy to keep an eye on your children. There is a fresh water outlet system that provides a small stream running through the middle of the beach making a lovely safe play area for toddlers. Excellent beach with some very nice rock formations to the side. There is very often a nice sunset to enjoy with the waves. It's also very clean and the sand is nice. If you prefer to swim over sand maybe stay away from this beach as it doesn't have much in terms of swimming. You can also walk across to other beaches at low tide if you go across the rocks. You can make it all the way to Thurlstone if you're brave enough 😉 . Overall...

On the web site it says dogs allowed September to April outside summer months but actually the sign said not allowed until October .
