WOW....... What a beautiful place!
The Duver Beach, St Helens now falls under the care of the National Trust and it is a great place to visit and explore. The beach is mainly of sand and the bathing is safe. When the tide goes out, this is a great place to explore the rock pools. You can walk along the shoreline to Seagrove and Priory Bays, which are also very secluded. There is plenty of parking and a delightful cafe/restaurant is positioned overlooking the beach and sea. Read moreI used to live in st Helens, so I know this place. Visited relatives, used overnight ferry, parked here to doze and await morning. The dawn chorus of dog walkers started at about 6.30am, all seemed to want to park next to me, WHY!!!! seems dogs wish to pee on my cars wheels, charming.......not! Then all dogs off lead, owners all a little infirm, result..... well I watched 3 dogs poop away from owner, so not picked up. Which is why, when I walked across the Duver with family later I found an abundance of dog poo, in fact the place is covered in it. So don't let the kids stray far. Read moreOne of my most favourite places on the island. Almost hidden away but a little treasure. Plenty of walking either along the water front or over the sand paths leading to several places. Just enjoy sitting watching either the people or the numerous sea going craft from canoes to, yachts to tankers and cruise ships always something to see!
