Fairlands Valley Park is an amazing spot for families, nature enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a relaxing outdoor experience. The park covers an extensive area, offering plenty of space to explore, unwind, and enjoy a variety of activities. During the summer, it is especially well-kept, with lush greenery and clean paths that make it an ideal place for picnics or leisurely strolls.

If you have toddlers, they’ll love feeding the ducks or simply watching the dogs playing in the open spaces. There’s also an entire area dedicated to kids’ play, complete with safe and fun equipment, which keeps the little ones entertained for hours. The park’s versatility is one of its best features—it offers something for everyone.

The autumn season at Fairlands Valley Park is equally delightful. The vibrant fall colors create a serene and picturesque atmosphere, making it a great time for walks or even just sitting and soaking in the beauty of nature.

One of the most underrated aspects of this park is the fact that parking is free! In a time when many parks charge for parking, this feels like such a refreshing bonus. It’s a small detail, but it definitely encourages people to visit more often, go for a walk, or work out without worrying about added costs.

Fairlands Valley Park is perfect for picnics, casual outings, or even just a peaceful escape. I highly recommend it to anyone in the area—truly a gem...

I use this park almost every day to walk my dogs and generally just for a walk. It has wide open fields. Awooded area which is filled with blue bells in April. At one end is three lakes from small to large. There is a water park for small children and a climing wall for older kids and adults. Boating happens on the main lake along wth fishing in season. Not great for meditation as there are always people around and with lots of dogs running free it would make it hard to achieve the solitude needed. The café beside the main lake has outdoor seating and serves snacks and even more substantial meals. It is a good place to sit and take in the lake and the activities. There is a small childrens play area near by. The main car park is a short walk away. No more than two minutes. There is a well maintained walk way running beside the lake .A busy road splits the park in two and should be crossed using the underpass only. This is easily accessed near to the main car park. In all ,this is a great amenity and is well used by the Stevenage population and visitors. In the southern part of the park the car park known as the show ground is used for puttingnon fairs and circuses. It is also the main car park used by away supporters when Stevenage Borough FC are playing at home. On these days the car park is best avoided as it can become...

Fairlands park turns 50 this autumn and is looking good for its age! This large town park looks especially attractive in the autumn with lots of colour in the trees. Many trees were planted in the early days of the park. Others are from older hedgerows and farmland planting - how the land was used before becoming the town park. The park sits in a valley with a series of three lakes. The lakes have a different characters with one for boating, while at the opposite end a lake focused on nature and birdlife. The lakes and natural vegetation attract quite a bit of wildlife including grebes, cormorants, Egyptian geese, as well as many woodland birds. The paths are surfaced so its ideal for buggies and all levels of mobility. There are no flower beds or gardens as such - apart from a small 'maze' near the car parks and some colourful dogwoods and willows with red and green stems. There is a cafe with indoor and outdoor seating and toilets by the...

Fairlands vally park (lakes) is beautiful . This is a local park for me and my family and I never tire of it all year round . It has A trim track for adults, one for the kids as well. Playground for kids also with the Water featured paddling pools which are open during those lovely warm days. Great place for a picnic (many picnic benches to choose from) . People who have an interest in nature/wildlife will love this park as there is always plenty of wildlife here but I won't tell you what kind because I don't want to spoil it for people new visiting this park. This park also seems to be very popular for the dog walkers and sporty park runners/joggers too. Also has a nice cafe near the main lake as well . Over all well worth a visit . 🌳🌳🌳🌳🌞🌞🌞🐕🐩🐶☕

I recently attended the Taste of the Caribbean festival and had an incredible experience. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, with a true celebration of Caribbean culture throughout the day. The entertainment was fantastic, with a lively live band that kept the crowd dancing and engaged. The food was absolutely amazing – full of authentic flavours and a great variety to choose from. It was also a very family-friendly event, with something for everyone to enjoy. I felt completely safe the entire time, and the overall vibe was warm, joyful, and energetic. I’d definitely recommend Taste of the Caribbean to anyone looking for a fun, cultural, and well-organised day out. Can’t wait for the next one!

Brilliant park. Everything you want or could require in a park. Plenty of open spaces for picnics, spots for fishing as in actual cubicle areas, a water park for kids (and adults), general park apparatus as well. Lovely views, cycle paths, plenty of wildlife and I think there is an aquasports leisure centre attached to it as well. Not to mention free parking. Easily a great place to take children or for a romantic picnic or just to have a kickabout. Can't fault it. Even had pizza delivered to us whilst here before. Is clearly appreciated by all as there doesn't ever appear to be much litter or mess around the place.
