I booked this room to attend a conference when other hotels nearby couldn’t accommodate me for the full period required. It was somewhat cheaper, but not by much when you consider the other options included breakfast and en-suite facilities which this does not.||||The room was spacious with two comfortable beds and a nice sized TV, kettle, tea, coffee etc. I had access to a fully fitted kitchen downstairs. There are a few takeaway outlets and a small, very basic general store next door. This is obviously a popular and well frequented pub, which is obviously due to the welcoming landlord and staff. Fantastic friendly Man, very professional and excellent first impressions were definitely met.||Shown up to our room. We were given room 4 which has two double beds.||The view from the room was amazing.||Went downstairs and Connor was amazling polite.||Later that evening we spent some time in the bar with the very friendly locals.||This pub is fantastic, they have recently refurbished it, and it includes a great outdoor area and they are working on the roof terrace complete with astro turf.||Guests are also able to use the upstairs kitchen.||The following morning we met Connors Dad Jimmy ( who like his Son is very nice and full of laughter and very kind) they are working on drawing in my customers with Quiz Nights, live bands and food.||This is a fantastic pub and we were made to fill so welcome.||If you are visiting Stevenage give the Poacher a chance to show you just how great they are. I highly recommend a few nights stay. We were only sorry we had booked for a...
