A small and very informative and friendly museum. Built up and manned by volunteers. All of them knowledgeable and we loved it. Up to date use of videos to show how a dig works with a small site set out. Story telling with a young man from the past who gave his news about the area and the finds and their use. Dressing up, and the only leek seed ever to be found. The Samean ware alone is the most fabulous full pieces ♥. All the finds have been found in and around the town of Alcester. Read moreThis was a flying visit by us to check out the heritage centre and the old part of a really old town. The heritage centre is co-located with the library and is disabled friendly, with all information on the same level. The heritage centre has some great artifacts within, and the member of staff on duty was very knowledgeable and passionate about her town. Things well worth a visit of you enjoy Roman history. Read moreThis is a great museum if your into roman history, it is quite small for a museum, however there is plenty to see, the volunteers are very friendly and knowledgeable, it's free to enter and only open on certain days and times, there are a lot of different items on show that have been found in Alcester, there's quite a few activities for children go join in with, such as jigsaws, quizes and Colouring, dressing up etc, there is a little shop in the main library which is reasonably priced however it is cash only as the library doesn't have...
