Wet table with heavy residue, I asked for a dry wipe which was fine. Afterward I was left with a sticky table I couldn't lean on so I was left leaning on the menu which a pretentious waitress tried to remove when serving my tea. Upon enquiring about the stickiness I was told 'they're all like that.' Unacceptable. Couldn't poach and egg as the 'kitchen isn't set up for it.' Upon enquiring how the eggs were scrambled they use a microwave, you could tell... The bacon was served under my beans which covered half the plate and I was met with the most sad looking sausage I've ever seen in my life. Seriously I know a cafe is there to make a few quid but I didn't know produce of that quality was avaliable for sale. Awful. I've worked in the catering trade and wouldn't dare serve food of that quality with a straight face. Upon enquiry of the sausage in question I was assured is was cooked fresh which I wasn't going to argue about as at this point I'd seen enough. Strange place, I would even say pretencious...Why try to be something you are not? I wanted to order my coffee at the counter but I was asked to seat down and my order will be taken at the table - "as there are few other drinks currently on order"... I thought this is a coffee shop not a restaurant. I should leave at this point. I wanted to pay by card and here we go another issue - my coffee was £2.15 and I was informed that I have to spend £5 to pay by card! I asked why? No answer... I thought we are in 2018? No? The card machine was there, business bank account charges starts from £6.50 per month...not per transaction? If your card machine provider charges you extra for transactions below £5per find another one! Fortunately I had a phone call and had to leave so I asked for a take away cup and ... suprise suprise that was additional 50p!!! I am aware that the government is calling for 25p charge but let's not push it too far! Get your service and pricing sorted. Perfect place to visit if you like...

Presumptous and Pompous staff . Food good . When we visited we were told the coffee machine was broken . We could have instant coffee . This is not affecting our score . Shortly after we arrived the lights started going on and off due to some unexplained activity by the staff . On one table next to us the Waitress was overheard saying " I heard you the first time ! " To a customer ! Quite rudely .The menu is limited but the toasted sandwiches and scones were good . Then it transpires that another couple near us who ordered before us had received no food despite waiting over half an hour .
