What an amazing experience! I booked a hot chocolate walk with as a surprise for my partner, and it couldn't have been better! (Well maybe the rain could have been blown away, but what do you expect in December? haha). When we arrived, we were given some health and safety training, and invited to brush the llama's coats as well as an unexpected surprise. Their customer service is absolutely excellent. After that, we were paired up with our llamas. I had Marlia, the lead llama, and she was a girl after my own heart - stopping for every snack she could see! She also let me have a cuddle and some pictures. My partner walked Tilly, who was absolutely the sweetest and fluffiest girl. She liked to have a fuss and also bee-lined for the snacks. Along the walk, Steve and Diane educated us on Dartmoor's history and answered a constant stream of questions from us about Dartmoor and llamas. Steve and Diane were so lovely and approachable, no question was too much or too silly, they'd heard it all before! They were even able to accomodate us being vegan and provided vegan hot chocolate and a vegan brownie. I am absolytely dying to go again and have been raving about it to all my friends.

I grabbed a last-minute spot on the ‘short walk’ during a break on Dartmoor, and it was the highlight of my trip! Steve and Di were brilliant guides, so friendly and knowledgeable – there was no question they couldn’t answer, be it about the llamas themselves or Dartmoor’s flora, fauna, archaeology and more. Their love for their animals and the local landscape shone through, and made the whole experience feel special and unique – not something you can do anywhere else, which is the best kind of thing to do on holiday. My llama companion, Bella, was calm and kind, it was lovely walking alongside her, listening to her breathing and communicative noises with the other llamas, and stroking her woolly neck. The walk itself was also beautiful, up to Sharp Tor where we were blessed with panoramic views and a break for coffee and cake while the llamas grazed and sunbathed. I couldn’t recommend this more highly as something to do on Dartmoor. It’s a tonic for both physical and mental health. As a typical overworked, overstressed city dweller, walking with Steve, Di and Bella did me the world of good. Thank you! I hope to be back one day!

What a fantastic day we had yesterday (29/03/2025) Llama trekking on Dartmoor. A belated 50th Birthday present for our mate Jo. Unfortunately it had to be cancelled in December due to unforseen circumstances but Scarlet was happy to put our booking on hold untill we could rearrange. Fortunately we had a beautiful day and 3 gorgeous Llamas, Marlia Tilly and Willow. We did a beautiful walk and stopped for tea and cake in the most picturesque spot. We had a little photo shoot with the Llamas before walking back through the woods. Jo couldn't stop smiling all the way round and enjoyed every moment. Thank you so much Scarlet and your husband for a fantastic day which none of us will ever forget. Totally recommend this for a gift for someone.

Can't really give a star rating as such as never actually got my llama walk. I had read the descriptions for the walks and completed the booking form on their website for a 1hr walk for 2 people taking part and an additional person (stated on the prices for the 1hr walk). I sent the booking form in advance of our holiday as it was the school summer holidays and didn't want to leave it to chance. It was almost a week and still hadn't received any sort of response for my booking, so called them and booked via telephone, explaining about the additional person, and was booked in for the date and time that was convenient and was told I would receive an email confirming the booking and instructions for payment and information about the visit. This email didn't arrive (yes, I checked my junk email as well). The day before our visit we'd missed a few calls back and forth but eventually spoke to someone about the booking who said she'd send over the confirmation email again as she realised it hadn't been sent. I then queried about the additional person I'd booked for as she'd said only 2 of us could go with the llama - I was told that this was not an option on the 1hr walk and was for if food was involved with the walk, so I explained if that was the case it would just be for 2 people then. A couple of hours later I was called again to say that I was the only booking for that day and could I rearrange the booking for another day - we couldn't do this as we'd already booked other activities for the rest of our holiday and so we didn't get to walk the llamas. Quite disappointed, especially as this was a birthday treat for the other person. My booking was for August Bank Holiday Monday afternoon - I find it a little bit strange that this type of activity would not get booked on a day like that during the school...
