We popped in here over lunchtime for a lovely meal. It was mid week and quite busy. The menu was clear and there was lots of choice. Staff were super friendly. The steak and ale pie was huge! Loads of chips, peas and gravy too. The veggie burger was also good. The toilets were clean, with plenty of good quality soap. There were also a few parking spaces outside despite being busy. Parking tip - if you are coming from the Plymouth or Tavistock direction, don't be tempted to come off the roundabout at the car park by the shops as there is often a queue and parking fees. Head towards Princetown and take the first exit on the right after the roundabout. this takes you to the pub car park.

Fantastic gem hidden away from the regular touristy places. A beautiful old building that, like most places in Cornwall, dates back years and beaming with history but despite that, this place is wheelchair accessible and also dog friendly. A tasty menu offering an assortment of home cooked delights. We opted for ham +eggs +chips and aptly named 'steak and jail pie'. All meals were good sizes which unfortunately meant there was no room to sample desserts. Very clearly a pub wrapped around the local community but still very welcoming to others that go in. All of the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere backed that up. A great place with great food.

Really great first time at the Rock Inn today. We booked in last minute after our walk around the reservoir and the staff were accommodating and friendly. I’m vegetarian so had the nut roast, and I couldn’t believe how flavourful and filling it was (I’ve had plenty of bad, dry ones)… My partner said the topside of beef was really good too! We were impressed by the amount of vegetables we were given and the gravy is worth a special mention too as it was super rich! We asked for for more. The roast potatoes were incredible too, they’re crispy but melt in mouth. Would defo come back ☺️

A lovely pub, I think there are three separate areas to eat, drink and socialize in, plus outside areas front and back, which is nice when the weather is dry and sunny. Food is from local sources, cooked when meals are ordered, so maybe a 15/20 minute wait, which is average. All staff happy, smiling faces, makes you happy to be eating there, they are very helpful as well. Disabled people will be able to move around outside and inside. Wheel chairs, no problem. Car parking can be a squeeze and in front of pub, in busy times, gets filled quickly but there are parking spaces around. Meals reasonable priced, the is always a Special Meals on the Blackboard in one of the bars plus Menu's of other meals and desserts. Just one moan, I went there last Saturday 14, October, with two of my friends and we all remarked that the menu's hadn't changed much since we last went in there, which was at least 3 or 4 months ago. So, maybe the pub owners with their, should get together and change the menu's more often. At the end of the day, I still like the Rock Inn, it has a friendly and warm atmosphere. Try it out if you have not been there, I don't think it will be disappointing, for...

We headed up to Dartmoor from the Newton Abbot area to check out the newly opened Forest Inn at Hexworthy - which was closed. So that was the only excuse I needed to head onwards through Princetown and down to the Rock, which is one my favourite pubs on the moor. I've been here maybe 4 or 5 times over the last few years (last time with my 8 year old daughter in October), and I've always had a friendly welcome and an excellent meal. My partner is a childminder and we had an 18 month-old with us. A high chair was easily available and the consumption of their pre packed lunch was not a problem. I was saving myself for a curry later so I only had a prawn cocktail, which was just perfect. My partner wanted a plain ham baguette, which wasn't on the menu, but this was no problem at all. The only down side is that The Rock is on the wrong side of the moor for me, but I will continue to call in when I am...

I took my older parents in yesterday evening (Sunday). Due to their needs I went in prior to this booking to explain and booked a specific table in the corner face to face rather than by phone. I explained that my father struggles to hear, and being in that corner with the acoustic dampened means that he can hear with the aid of his hearing aid and is therefore included. Your member of staff who took the booking confirmed this and took my number. You ignored this and moved us to an ubsuitable table. Extremely unpleasant! If you needed to move us having made the effort to drop in and book a specific table you should have called. We would have then cancelled. Please understand that sometimes when people book a specific table (and make the effort to come in and explain this to your staff) it due to the medical needs of...
