Rarely crowded, this south facing beach is divided into sections by breakwaters, and has a variety of sandy and more pebbley inlets. A sea wall runs the length of it with a promenade behind and a sloping grassy area riding up to Dovercourt. There are loos on this 'cliff', a variety of seats, a cafe at the West end of the bay and a WW2 fort, in the process of being renovated, to the East.
