Purston Park — Attraction in Wakefield

Go here a lot, kids of all ages love it. Good selection of equipment for the kids, a duck pond and skate park. Car park a little small but there are more than 1 so drive around and you will get a place.

Reasonably clean, well as well as it can be with the usual odd person that might disrespect the park, but all in all a nice place to go with kids.

Just had a playground upgrade including zip wires and also a new skate park which is brilliant, fresh with new tarmac too. Needs more bins and seating but still a great local place to visit.

There is also a Veterens Centre on sight next to the car park.

Car park could do with resurfacing.

In my opinion just missing a regular ice-cream van or even a cafe!

I have been to this little park for children a few times now, and I must say, I really like it! The park has all-new equipment that's perfect for babies and toddlers, which is great because my 1-year-old and 3-year-old absolutely loved it. There's also plenty to keep the bigger kids entertained. The only downside is that there's no lock on the gate, so you have to be careful, especially since there's easy access to the lake. The renovated children's play area has something for various ages and is very good. I really think there needs to be some sort of surveillance to prevent it from being damaged.
