Cassiobury Park is huge! ACCESSIBILITY: Though most of the paths are tiled, there a many peaks and troughs. If you stay in the basic flat grass areas near the children's playground, access isn't so difficult. Though there is a fairly steep and long incline from the disabled parking to the main area. If you want to go to the canal, be warned: There are very steep slopes to climb and to descend to reach it. And the further along you get down the canal path, the more impossible it becomes. The path becomes cobbled and narrower, and there are some impossibly steep inclines to reach bridges. You will need some strong people to get you up and down. But once you get over to the other side, wheeling independently will be near impossible. My advice is to avoid going too far down the canal path, if you absolutely feel it necessary to see the boats. The nature reserve walkway is fairly doable for most of the main walkways as they are paved from the path that started from Besides the bridge you meet after passing the children's railway. However, at some point, the path stops being paved and it is chipwood/large gravel/twigs and very uneven. Again, if you are a manual chair user, it might be best to have someone around. It is near impossible to access the golf grounds from the entrance near the carpark for wheelchair users, due to the incline. Unless you have 2 or 3 people pushing up the steep incline to access it from the canal side. I was unable to locate any other way to access it. VERDICT: An all round a huge park. With loads of space. Not too busy and worth a visit. As inclusive as it can be, based on the terrain. It is a very hilly area, in general. However there is ample room for a nice roll around.

Great for bird sightings but our visit was ruined by out of control dogs! Dogs on leads should be rigidly enforced (one star) UPDATE: CASSIOBURY PARK All in all it was a nice few hours of walking and chatting with friends. There is a carpark where you have to get a ticket (or be ticketed) and the first two hours are free. There are parking bays for the disabled but it isn't clear if they are exempt from being ticketed, most likely not. There are nice walks around the park and there is even a bird watchers hide. However, due to the unmanaged flooding the hide has up to a foot of water in it, so forget that unless you've got wellies. The paths are reasonably maintained, but could be better. In places water is running over the paths which is a problem for some. Also, there are plenty of muddy areas if that's what you're into. On one path (to the side) there are flamingo's and wolves (not together of course). It is a pity that they are mostly hidden by green netting. Near to the toilets (disabled included) is a sitting area which is quite large. You can purchase drinks and snacks from the kiosk and relax in the sun (when its out). A downside for us is that dogs are allowed off their leads (so it would seem) and although we weren't bothered by them on this visit we were on the last one. It would be nice to have a large fenced area where all dogs can run around to their (and their owners) hearts content. Update on 23/02/2020. Visited the park today. Some paths/walks are waterlogged. Same problem with out of control dogs. The council doesn't do anything about this.

Cassiobury park. We went here for a day out on a Saturday and it was our first time. It was a 30mins drive from wembley, parking on site. free for the first 2 hours and you can pay by ringo app or coins. We arrived at the park at around 5pm past crowd was moderate and I easily find a parking space. According to to other reviews that I read it can be packed and you need to wait to get a parking space. Other wise you can park outside along the road residential area. The park I could say is massive I haven’t been exploring, it’s a nice place to walk, exercise, picnic and dog walking along the trails. For kids there’s a play ground and a water park. Water park was closed Maybe it was 17:00 already I’m not aware of the opening and closing time of the water park. There id a coffee area but sad to say it was already closed. There’s a toilet and access for service users. Also there’s a miniature train but it was closed that time. The most I like was the canal/streams it was relaxing to watch the ducks. Before I forget Watford station is not far if you don’t have a car or don’t want to drive. So I’m planning to go back here as I want to explore the area more but highly recommended. I want to highlight the area is clean. 👍

Beautiful park and a wonderful place to spend the day with all of the family. There is a car park (first 2 hours are free) which is just a short walk to the park itself where you can use Ringo or pay and display. It does get pretty busy but we were able to get a space after around 3 or 4 minutes of waiting. Once in the park there is a fantastic kids playground and water park. When we visited there were also some fairground rides and huge bouncy castles which were around £2 per child. The little railway is always a hit with children big and small. It costs £2 for the short train ride but is definitely worth it for a bit of fun! We found the toilets on site to be clean and well maintained and there was lots of hand sanitiser dotted around the park. The cafe on site tends to get very busy so secure a table a little before you want to eat / feed the kids as when we ordered there was a 50 minute wait for food (and that was after queuing for around 20 mins). Food are drink prices are not exorbitant but the park is a great place to bring a picnic if you don’t want to spend at the cafe. All in all, a wonderful family oriented park which we enjoyed thoroughly. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.
