Really good place to visit. They have wheelchairs there to hire for those who need it. It's a flat surface to go around in most places. In one place we went in, there were stairs (in the dinosaur exhibition). The goat enclosure maybe difficult to get into with a wheelchair. You can go around the enclosure as well.
They have a play barn attached to the café which my son and niece enjoyed playing in, they also have a large sand pit attached to the shop which is both the entrance and exit.
Plenty of animals to see, both wild and a small pets corner with chicks, rabbits and guinea pigs. I'm unsure if they have other pets to hold there. They do have a couple of rodents in cages if I remember correctly but unsure if they come out for Visitors to hold. The staff in the pets corner were very helpful and friendly. They don't have hand dryers with the taps near the pets corner, they have paper towels available. They don't have a bin next to the tap area. If like me, you're allergic to a lot of soap, I'd avoid using theirs as they're unsure what make it is and think it's a basic one. I used the water and some hand sanitizer gel I took with me.
Some of the animals we saw were: parrots (various kinds), rabbits, goats, meerkats, an emu like bird. In the meerkats enclosure, they have a tunnel type things you an crawl through from the outside which ends up in an observation type box (enclosed) so you can see the meerkats from here.
In the café, they have a sign up saying that they don't allow food that's not brought on the premises to be eaten in the café and play barn area however when we went for my niece's first birthday and the staff allowed my brother and sister in law to light a candle on the birthday cake they brought with them and lent us a knife to cut it with.
They do have some picnic areas outside, I'm sure you'd be able to use them for on good days to have a picnic. I don't know their rules regarding heating baby food up, but it's best to check. I don't see why they'd have a problem with giving a bowl of hot water or something.
The food available is a smallish variety, they do have some cakes available. The children's lunchbox I thought was expensive for what you could choose and there wasn't much choice. They do have some other options for children for hot food but again, it's limited. If you're picky on what you eat like I can be, you may find you don't find much if anything you can eat. I had a bowl of chips as I struggled to find anything else to have. My hubby had the pasty of the day (that particular day it was vegetables in a cheesy sauce), my brother, mum and dad had the chilli (veggie). They give you the option of having salad with the pasty.
I have attached a small amount of pictures that we took from...
Read moreI went there today with my partner and our children. He has been before with his two older girls and loved it (this was a couple of years ago) but me and my children have never been. From what he'd told me and the reviews I was very excited and happily paid for the day out only to be left very disappointed.
On arrival the first thing I noticed and continued to notice was the lack of animals/animals appearing, the ones that did looked fed up and seemed almost lathargic/tired. The majority of the animals we saw were either stuffed, plastic or skeletal.
The next annoying thing was the fact that all events were on at the same time. This meant that trying to see more than one fully was terrible and in the end we didnt see or go to any as it was causing us hell trying to divide ourselves between our children. This would definitley be a problem for single parents with multiple children or anyone in general alone or with limited adults and multiple children.
The next thing was the fact that all the statues seemed to be run down or had been removed. We continously walked the trail to find sections missing and signs weren't fully up to date with the location. Another disappointment as once again less for the kods to see and experience.
My final but minute issues were that the staff are quite rude, not very helpful and aren't approachable. I was very shocked that you couldn't buy animal feed a small thing but something that is enjoyable for the children and that the cafe and definitley the shop is very pricey. Although I can't fault the quality of the food.
They do have play parks and a soft play there which were both great for the children. There's also some carts as well.
Overall I was disappointed with the day. I'm not a moaning Minnie or a Karen but from my perspective we wasted alot of money and i wiuldnt want others to do the same.
In total we spent over £100 and being honest we took our children to Little Owl's Farm Park a few weeks back, spent a little less and had a much more fulfilling day out as there was so much to do.
I feel like this centre is better aimed towards those with a love of historical animals such as dinosaurs rather than current as that seems to be their main focus with some living animals thrown in for good measure.
To give an idea of how quick we stayed we arrived at 11 and left at nearly 3. We finished walking around the entire thing at a slow pace by 12.11 and spent the rest of our time having some lunch and in the soft play...
Read moreWe were looking for somewhere to take our Granddaughter on her 2nd Birthday when a Google search for Dinosaurs in Oxfordshire brought up All Things Wild. After having a look at the website, it seems like a good option as it had plenty of things for a 2 year old to do & was only an hour away from her home so it wasn’t too far plus it had Dinosaurs which are her current favourite thing. We were hoping for sheep as that is also one of her favourite things but couldn’t see any on the website, however we were pretty sure that goats would come a close second. We arrived just after 11am & spent 5 hours there & pretty much did everything that we wanted to. We went on the Dino land train, walked round the Step Through Time trail & visited every Dinosaur there, managed to see some neighbouring sheep & lambs through the wire fence, investigated Dino Diggerland & Basecamp Honeybourne, visited the Dino Barn & Farmyard Barn, said hello to all of the wild animals & walked through the FarmYard Safari, played on the outdoor play equipment, visited the Adventures Barn, played on the indoor play at Wild Fun Barn & Jungle Mayhem, passed through the Ocean Voyage, managed to avoid the Indoor Beach & ended up in the shop. We were able to purchase a cuddly Dinosaur & Sheep so the little one was happy & we were a tad poorer. We didn’t visit the Café as our little one is not one for sitting down for a meal so we had a backpack full of hand held food & snacks which worked well for us. There were plenty of places & encouragement on the way round to wash your hands, lots of green spaces to take a break plus benches & picnic tables dotted about. There was plenty of parking, everything was pretty clean & tidy, all areas were well maintained & it was explained why wild areas were left to nature. We saved £5 for 2 adults by booking online in advance & the little one was free. There was a timetable of activities at set times but we didn’t go to them as a 2 year old is not big on structure so it suited us to wander round at our own pace. You can also book specific animal experiences for older children which look quite costly but include park entrance so are not as bad as they seem. It's somewhere we could go back to & our 6 year old Granddaughter is very jealous that she had to go back to school on the day we...
