Deen Skatepark — Attraction in Aberdeen

Pretty terrible. The ground is gnarly/cheese grater, so it zaps your speed, and tears you up when you slam. The run ups are non-existent, and there is no flow at all. The low side of the rail (which is kinked and square, by the way) drops you directly onto a square chunk of concrete. Parents bring their kids here to use it as a playground (using the half and quarter pipes as sliding boards), when there is literally a playground right next to the skatepark. I do still go here sometimes, because there's nothing else in Aberdeen. The skate spot in Edgewood is waaaaaaaayyyyyyy better, and it's DIY. Could use some repaving, i caught a gap when skating onto a QP and got launched.lol otherwise pretty nice. Theres a sign next to the fence that says "state of the art skatepark opening fall 2022" so thats promising. There wasnt anyone there when I went which was nice but possibly indicative that theres something better elsewhere? Great revamp of the park; some people in the area don't have any respect for public property though. If you go during the day it's a great spot to chill though. At night: just be aware. Plenty of kids with no intention of riding, skating, or any thing else with wheels just smoke weed and throw trash...
