Malibu Creek State Park Visitor Center — Attraction in Agoura Hills

It’s open! Don’t let the closed door fool you. The very friendly docents are inside staying cool. Lots of natural history and info about the Chumash people plus all the movies filmed in the park. Porch swing and cold drinks on sale for $1 if you need to rest and cool off. Large picnic area under the trees out front. Day use fee or state parks pass required. Pop machine and restrooms next to the parking lot when you enter the park. Avoid the crowds heading over the bridge to the Rock Pool or come here...

The Malibu Creek State Park visitor center looks like a great information center. Unfortunately it was closed the day I visited (New Year's Day), however it seems to be open until 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday. There are some pieces of props from the MASH site on the porch. If you're hiking in the area or visiting the state park, this visitor center would be worth a visit to learn more about the history...
