This is a fun stop if you are exploring Malibu Creek State Park - you can visit it from the Cistern Trail, Lookout Trail or from the Visitor Center parking lot. There is a picnic table nearby to relax and have lunch with a small group of people. The view is beautiful. The water can be very muddy and you cannot get too close to the dam, but if the water is flowing it is very relaxing to listen to it falling.

This hiking trail was easy and mostly straight, making it perfect for a relaxed walk. There was only one small hill near the end, just before reaching the lake. From the entrance, it took about 1.5 hours total for the round trip at a fast walking pace without kids. A nice and simple route with a rewarding view at the end.

A good walk or hike, depending on how you define hike, from the camping ground or the parking lot. The water is stagnant, and not much of "actions" from living things can be observed. This should not be a destination for the walking or hiking. This should be a stop on the way to the other destination.

This is a wonderful place to visit. There is a redwood forest on the other side(Next to the mountain) This is the furthest south forest of redwoods) You can get here 3 different ways. Front entrance, Middle off of Mullholland Hwy, and back side(Mash Site) from crags Road. Please be careful when swimming and please take with you any trash you may have brought. I pickup trash even though I...
