I participated in the artisan show November 2024-December 2024. I was excited to be able to leave what I made at the center to sell without being present. I labeled all my merchandise with my number so they knew who to pay when they were done. After the show I picked my items up and counted the inventory of what I got back compared to what they say they sold. At the time I had been paid for 2 items. I noted I was still missing 6 items being paid. I contacted Kelli who said she was there for one sale of 4 items. She said they weren’t entered into their system correctly. I was paid for the 4 items but when I explained I was still missing 2 items she said she couldn’t find them in her stay. I pointed out they had already had a mishap with items being labeled incorrectly and the items were missing. I asked what would be done about this missing items and have yet to receive a response again. I will never recommend any vendors to this holiday market again. We label our things with a vendor number and trust the staff to do their jobs. They take a percentage of what’s sold because we are using their facilities but we should be able to trust them to correctly track items sold and pay the vendor. It’s extremely unprofessional yet alone the amount of calls and emails I’ve had to send...
Read moreThe Jaques (pronounced jay-KWEE) Art Center is a little hidden gem, tucked away in plain sight, in the cozy little township of Aitkin, Minnesota. A warm, charming art gallery dedicated to the late artist Francis Lee Jaques, it contains some of his original wildlife paintings, as well as some artwork contributed by local artists for sale as well. The lady working at the time my lovely fiance and i visited, Colleen, was really sweet and and gave us wonderful insight of the entire history of the gallery and of ALL of the artists' backgrounds and contributions! Well worth a visit for people and families of ALL walks of life! Highly...
