Goose Lake Park — Attraction in Alaska

This is a gorgeous lakeside setting that often goes all summer without the mosquitoes finding it! There are wide open spaces for people to run around & play or picnic. The paved bike trails through the woods circle around Goose Lake. A few years ago I almost ran into a large black bear right on the trail just a few yards from one on the busiest roads in town. Watching the Iditarod Sled Dog Race was an amazing experience, and participating in the Anchorage event was so much fun! Respect to all the dog sledders who are incredibly professional in handling their sleds, and to all the adorable dogs who work so hard! It was a blast seeing this year’s Iditarod race!

Looks to be a decent Beach for water sports. Still mostly frozen over currently. Imported sand to help feel like a real beach is nice. Lifeguard posts for summer swimming. But really sad how much garbage people toss around, strewn throughout the park. Actually I have found this consistent for most areas of Anchorage lots of garbage. Really sad that...
