My husband and I visited Port Chilkoot Distillery when our cruise stopped in Haines for the evening just over a week ago. This is such a cool place with a lot of heart and very tasty drinks. Luckily, we were in time to do the tour, which was delightful.
They have such a cool set up and seeing the equipment and materials first hand really put into perspective the love and care that goes into some pretty great small batch spirits. I'm so happy we went on the tour and even happier with the bottles we bought to take home.

Read moreWe had such a fantastic experience at the Distillery! Mads was our bartender and as soon as we walked in we felt like fast friends. She was very knowledgeable and personable. We tried a taste of the gin, bourbon and absinthe. On her suggestion (when I asked what her fav drink was..) we both had the Siren Swizzle. WOW, what a tasty drink! We stayed the night in Haines (after dinner at Fireweed, next door, also recommend !!) and went back the next day for two more drinks and left with a full bottle of Absinthe to take back home with us to Iowa. :) If you are in Haines, don't miss Port Chilkoot!...
Read moreWe returned from a 24,000 mile trip with a teardrop trailer from The Florida Keys to Alaska and back home to Connecticut. We saved the gin bottle for the artwork, and of course we have a tee shirt that reminds us of our visit. This is a really great place! Wonderful staff, tasty spirits and nicely decorated distillery.
