Highly recommend!! I booked the Yukon Suspension Bridge tour on my recent visit in Skagway and was highly impressed and satisfied with the excursion. My tour comprised of only 5 people and it was incredible! We were ahead of schedule and got to the bridge before the bulk of tour buses arrived. It was nice walking around the area without any crowds and was perfect for capturing the best photos of the river and mountains. Also, because our tour group was small we were able to make a few pit stops on our way back to town and saw so many breathtaking views, the “welcome to Alaska sign”, and even visited bridal veil falls. Joe was our tour guide and was super knowledgeable of the area and provided a lot of historical and fun facts. I’m so happy I chose this tour over the train, it gave a more immersive, flexible, and scenic experience. I’d absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking to make the most of their...
Read moreJoe Uchytil was an outstanding guide! Our time with Joe was the highlight of our trip! His knowledge of the area, combined with his photography expertise made for a breathtaking experience. The “Skagway in Focus: Guided Photography Adventure” excursion, which was an option on our Holland America Alaskan cruise, was simply wonderful. We could see White Pass from downtown Skagway, but it was thrilling to be brought up past it to where the magical glaciers, rivers, lakes, a waterfall (!), adolescent eagles (!!!), gorgeous vistas, and mountains exist. Joe’s knowledge of where to go and techniques to try were superb. I’m a newcomer to photographic techniques, but Joe had some easy tricks for me to try, and he conversed knowledgeably with others who had advanced equipment. Almost a week later, and I’m still coming down from the high I got (no chemicals, I swear!) from this one afternoon. It...
Read moreGreat company but no wildlife in June; book it only in July or August. Disappointed
The company is great: fair price ($104 for 2.5 hrs in Alaska), our driver /guide Chad was knowledgeable & enthusiastic. HOWEVER, we visited Haynes in June and, other than two eagles and bear poop, saw no wildlife. Chad explained that for wildlife viewing, July & August are best months. So, despite paying for a wildlife tour, the two stops we did were ok (but similar to what we saw from the ship and cruise pier).
So…if you visit Haynes in July or August, book this excursion. Otherwise, just walk around town. Some passengers rented e-bikes and had a great time.
In terms of a company, vehicle & driver/guide it’s a 5+ but my rating is a 3 because had I known the chances spitting wildlife in June was slim, I would have booked the excursion when I find myself in Haynes in...
