The Stanly County Museum is in Albermarle, NC. There is plenty of street parking and I think admission is free. I am pretty sure I was the only person inside the museum as I did not see anyone else there. I was surprised that there was no staff but the door was unlocked and the lights on so I went inside. The door made a noise when I opened it so if someone else was in the building he or she would have heard that.
The museum's website was really nice so I was expecting more from the museum. The museum building is a good size but the exhibits were lacking. I expected to learn a bit more about the county's history. So having staff there would have filled in the gaps. I wasn't sure what areas I was allowed and what areas I wasn't supposed to be and that made me feel uncomfortable there. It is possible I missed some sections not knowing where to explore.
