Angels Care Nails Salon ( Y&D Nails Spa ) — Attraction in Albuquerque

My family and I have been coming to Angel's for a few years now. When they opened, it was absolutely the best place in all of Albuquerque to get a mani/pedi. I had never been to a place that didn't consistently try to upsell you during the visit and balloon your final price to something ridiculous. The place is more expensive than most, but with the service and amount that was done, it was worth it.

Things have changed. The last few times we have been there, we made specific time reservations for a party of three or four people. When you make a reservation, you would expect that when you arrive you would have at least a small wait, right? We have never waited less than 45 minutes to an hour, with an appointment! None of us were started at the same time, and this last visit they seated and started walk-ins making my partner wait over an hour until I threatened to leave unless they started him right away. They begrudgingly did, but likely would have kept ignoring him... Maybe because he's a man? A paying customer is a paying customer.

They consistently over-schedule beyond their staffing and capacity, snub long-time customers, and couldn't care less if they keep you there way beyond the time you state you need to leave (as we have told them several times). If you take reservations and you only have so many people on staff, you cannot accommodate walk-ins.

We very much enjoyed the establishment, and they do have great options for manis and pedis, but we will likely not be returning as every time is extremely frustrating and a multiple hour ordeal despite having a (apparently meaningless)...

My wife made an appointment for a full hour mani & pedi. She wasn’t seated until 30 minutes passed her appointment time. She paid for a foot massage which never occurred. The technician was on his cell phone the whole time texting and was so unprofessional and inconsiderate that he actually stopped to watch a video on his phone while my wife sat waiting. Angel care should really pay more attention to who they hire and their staff and make sure that the paying customers are receiving exactly what they’re paying for and not being cheated out of money for services that are paid for and never rendered. This is the worst experience ever and we will no longer give any type of business to angel care and warn others of the unprofessional and bad business practices of angel care. My wife also paid for a foot massage which she never received, the technician also didn’t apply a base coat to her nails and the technician went 30 minutes passed closing time and did not paint my wife’s nails which she also paid for and when she mentioned it all that was said is, “oh we forgot” how we they didn’t forget to charge full price for the services she asked for but never received. I asked to speak with a manager and was told there was no manager available and I needed to to call back the next day to speak with a manager by the name of angel. I hate to even write this review as this was my favorite nail place, but my coworker and I were so excited to finally get our nails done and it didn’t go as excepted! We made an appointment and after arriving and seated we felt very rushed! As we were getting our pedicures done they did our manicure in the same chair and it felt very rushed and awkward! We could not even enjoy the experience. We were being pulled in every direction to do the pedicures and manicures and had bowls of water sitting in our laps. The were saying that they usually get to go early and do not stay open till 7pm anymore which makes me feel that they were trying to get us out so they could go home. They also had us resting our hands on pillows that no plastic on them and had no idea where they came from. During COVID this is very concerning! The elderly man that did my nails was also coughing and did not back away from me. He was wearing a mask but did not seem Concerned! My friend could see through the nail polish on the tips of her fingers. She did bring it to their attention they seemed to not care! When the girl came back out she kept yanking her hand around while drilling off the polish kept saying that she should’ve brought it to her attention sooner. Unfortunately we had not noticed this until she had completed due to the lack of lighting in the establishment. I still paid the same price for both of us and did NOT receive the services...
