Olympus Event Center — Attraction in Albuquerque

The event space itself is beautiful, but unfortunately, the staff — particularly Jeanette — made my wedding experience far less personal and special than it should have been.

At our very first meeting, Jeanette had triple-booked the time with other families, leaving us waiting around for over 40 minutes before we could even speak with her. This was after we had made a deposit.

Over the course of the last 7 months, I have had multiple meetings with her. Every-time I would have to re-introduce myself and go over the same points with her five or more times only for her to still get them wrong. It was incredibly frustrating.

Many important details were missed — for example, the officiant’s podium was never set out, among other overlooked items.

The lack of communication from Jeanette during the wedding planning process was inexcusable. There were many times I would text or call her and receive no response at all. She did not assist with the planning process in any meaningful way, leaving me to figure out far too many details on my own.

Communication between staff was nonexistent. We had the venue booked until midnight, yet last call was mistakenly made at 10:15 PM when it should have been 11 PM. After a long back-and-forth with the security guard/bartender/“manager,” he eventually checked our contract and admitted he was wrong, which I appreciated — but the situation should never have happened in the first place.

When last call was made, we began cleaning up. I was told I could pick up my décor, extra food, and alcohol before 1 PM the next day. However, as my husband and I were leaving, Jeanette stopped us and insisted everything be taken right then, despite the fact that all my friends (and their cars) had already left. After picking up our decorations this morning, we were told an extra tip would be appreciated since the decor was not picked up the night before.

To top it off, we had two uninvited wedding crashers who claimed staff told them they could attend.

We had the best wedding celebration we could ever ask for! Janette helped us plan & made the process so simple & easy! The day of our event, we were blown away by everything! The set up was stunning!! We heard complements all night about how beautiful everything looked. Carmen handled everything with ease & made sure everything was taken care of. Her attention to detail was impecable! From serving the champagne, directing the catering co, serving our vendors...I could list a million things she did for us & I still wouldn't be able to list them all. I am forever thankful of all the hard work & making my daughters wedding an amazing celebration! Marco kept our guests safe & Shondeen was so friendly to our guest at the bar.
