ABQ Sweet Spot — Restaurant in Albuquerque

I was charged $137.00 in the rise of this whole pandemic we were not able to do my 4 years daughters birthday party. I had talked to a girl here and she stated to let her know if it we were going to cancel. I told her since the end of March about this. I have never ordered from this place before. This is my first experience and I did tell her I could not move forward due to the stay in home restrictions that THE GOVERNOR put into place. When telling her that she said unfortunately she can not refund due to her policy even when canceling was not my wanting but something that was forced on us by everything happening and for the SAFETY OF A BUNCH OF EVERYONE ATTENDING THE PARTY.

I asked her to refund the money and still to this day she has yet to refund as if they are more needing of the money than a single mother. This is money that could have gone as a present to my 4 year old daughter versus to a cake we are not even going to use. I was told that I would have an in store credit of 137 why would I want a credit of 137 at a bakery for? Do not do business with this shop they are thieves and they do not care about their customers. Discovered this place so I dropped by. This is a cute little sweet shop/ bakery that has so many goodies to choose from. Upon speaking with the owner he informed me that they have been in this location for about 2 years and initially they started selling from their home. I tried the red velvet cream cheese cookie sandwich and the chantilly cupcake. The red velvet cream cheese sandwich was awesome! What I really like about it is that it was not too sweet but perfectly sweetened enough with a great flavor. The chantilly cupcake was bomb! This is my favorite cake so I was a bit sceptical to try the cupcake figuring there wouldn't be any comparison but I was wrong. They fill the cupcake with what I believe is strawberry filling and top with blueberries and a strawberry. If you like the cake you'll like this too. I can't wait to go back and try their other goodies! I got there a little late and a lot of things were sold out so next time I'll remember to go earlier. On February 13th I placed and paid $188.78 in full for a bithday cake for my daughter's 30th birthday in store. This was my first time ordering from a stand alone bakery. Unfortunately my daughter and her fiance became sick days prior to the cake pick up date of March 8th. I received a phone call on March 5th from the bakery that the production team was about to start on the cake. I explained that I needed to cancel due to the recent illness. We didn't want to expose grandparents and others coming from out of state to illness. I was told that I would only be refunded half of the money I paid in full. I do not understand that if the cake was not made why they choose to keep half of the money? This post is just a buyer beware as this left a negative experience with a stand alone bakery.
