Allen Station Park — Attraction in Allen

It's one of the first public skateparks in the DFW metroplex. Despite being one of rhe early concrete skateparks it is still a really fun park to skate. Some of the ledges could use a little love but other than that I really cannot say anything bad about it. With all t he skateparks in the area now I guess it's easy to be picky. But one thing that separates this park from the others is that it also has a roller rink that is separate from the actual skatepark. I often see people playing street hockey over there. Allen Station Park truly is a hidden gem! I was riding around Allen with my cousin and other family, when my cousin says, "let's go to the dam," he then turns into an industrial parking lot and parks. After a short walk down a concrete path we were in the park. As this was an unplanned trip, I was wearing flip flops and was not prepared to hike, though the short one we did to the tracks was great. My son has recently taken up inline skating after getting a pair of skates at a garage sale. I was nervous to take him to a real skate park since he’s an amateur at best, but overall the park was safe and the other older kids there were nice and watched out for my son. It’s a pretty big park with lots of deep drop ins. Next time we may bring a bike or scooter. Love that we have access to a skate park that is free and so well maintained. We will...
