Glendover Park — Attraction in Allen

We fish here regularly. Close to the house, so easy to get to. The pond is not large, but has lots of easy shore access including a fishing pier (the railing on which is too high to fish comfortably, unfortunately), and is well supplied with fish. We have caught lots of panfish here (including some surprisingly large bluegill in the 10+ inch range - fish the weeds close to shore for these), some largemouth bass, and have seen but not yet caught lots of decent sized catfish. Visited this park while in the area. Finally found a public city park with a duck pond! Coming from Prosper and Frisco, they have mostly subdivision private parks. At this park, You can just park under a shade tree and chill. Or get out and walk around. Or sit on benches and watch the ducks. Very clean park. Plenty of picnic tables. Playground also. Great park for kids that love to climb! It has a lot of different structures for the kids to climb, balance, and explore on. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that there were a lot of older kids (10-13 year olds) running around blasting music and filming with their cell phones. The neighborhood must have a lot of big kids in it. But other than that, it was a super cool park that my kids have already asked...
