My fiancé and I went to the Gardens on Monday to take a walk around for a ceremony that we’re planning in a week. It’s not like it used to be. I was very disappointed. The roses are very minimal and they’re very low, not the 5 foot rose bushes that you would have seen 5 years ago. These are actual starter bushes that I would had in my front yard. Also, we saw cigarette butts on the ground, whom ever the care taker is.. he’s not taking care of it. The gazebos are not well-maintained the paint is chipping off the pillars and the roof shingles are displayed and falling off. It’s a shame because at one time this was a beautiful place. I remember in the late 80s and early 90s everyone would run to the Rose Garden had their wedding photos taken. Too bad. It’s one place in Allentown that you count on to remain the same as it was. Mind you, it’s still a nice place to visit..and get married if you didn’t know what it was. The city really needs to go out there and do better.
