My fiancé and I went to the Gardens on Monday to take a walk around for a ceremony that we’re planning in a week. It’s not like it used to be. I was very disappointed. The roses are very minimal and they’re very low, not the 5 foot rose bushes that you would have seen 5 years ago. These are actual starter bushes that I would had in my front yard. Also, we saw cigarette butts on the ground, whom ever the care taker is.. he’s not taking care of it. The gazebos are not well-maintained the paint is chipping off the pillars and the roof shingles are displayed and falling off. It’s a shame because at one time this was a beautiful place. I remember in the late 80s and early 90s everyone would run to the Rose Garden had their wedding photos taken. Too bad. It’s one place in Allentown that you count on to remain the same as it was. Mind you, it’s still a nice place to visit..and get married if you didn’t know what it was. The city really needs to go out there...

Allentown Rose Gardens, Allentown PA - As Ministers/ Wedding Officiants at Kimberlys Blessings, we have celebrated Many weddings at this lovely place. We have found the grounds to be beautiful, with very nice, older stone Gazebos.

+The Gardens are seasonally more colorful in Spring and Summer, but also very popular on Weekends.

It is first come/ first serve to use the Gazebo and walkways for your Ceremonies/ Celebrations, so keep that in mind. (On a busy weekend there might be 3 or 4 Ceremonies taking place, each day.) Sometimes you may have to wait, for the previous group to finish.

Highly recommended. The beauty of all the roses in bloom, is spectacular! Let us know if you have any questions about Your wedding and this Memorable place for Weddings or Elopements, or if we can be of...

We visited this park while visiting Allentown for the weekend. It was soo hot on the day we visited we didn't stay long. However, the park was clean and spacious. They have a picnic area with grills and tables to eat. There's a lot of grass and greenery areas. The walking trail has little areas that give you different exercise descriptions. They have a few ponds and one in particular we saw people inside actually enjoying the water to cool off.

Now the actual rose garden area was just beautiful. The area was clean and not too crowded. The lawns were well maintained and you can tell they work hard to upkeep this section. They have statues throughout the garden and several places for you to sit and relax or just enjoy the scenery. This park/garden area is definitely a...

If it were only roses at the rose gardens I would still give it five stars, however it is so much more than that! There is a Fitness trail, there are sculptures to enjoy, a reflecting pool, and a variety of species of other plants. Much of the walking trail is shaded. Now that we've moved down to Florida, we only get to visit there once or twice a year. I hope that people that live closer by make an effort to enjoy it far more frequently than that. It is a top destination for prom and wedding photos.
