I am writing this review solely in response to the change in ownership at Queen of Hearts in Alpharetta. This one-star rating in no way reflects on the hardworking employees, who have consistently been helpful and courteous. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the new owners.
My business partner and I maintained a booth at this location for nearly four years. However, since the business changed hands, our experience has drastically declined. The new ownership has demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism, integrity, and follow-through. While they may present themselves as polite and agreeable in person, our experience has shown this to be a facade. Promises were made repeatedly and never honored, and any attempt at follow-up was consistently ignored or brushed off.
If you are considering renting a booth or floor space here, I strongly encourage you to have a very candid conversation with the owners beforehand. Ask detailed questions, and most importantly—get everything in writing. Based on our dealings, I would advise extreme caution. In my opinion, the current owners are not transparent, do not treat vendors with respect, and have little regard for maintaining strong, trustworthy...
Read moreWhile the shop is visually interesting and fun to stroll through, the pricing is outrageous. I was shocked to see items from Kirkland’s, HomeGoods, Marshall’s, and other retail stores being sold here for triple their original price. These are not antiques — they’re mass-produced decor being passed off as something they’re not. While there are still genuine antiques in the mix, this kind of misleading practice is unacceptable and takes advantage of customers who may not know the difference. Edit: I purchased this needlepoint Halloween pillow from Marshall’s today for $19.99. I saw the same pillow in the Queen of Hearts Antique Store but priced at $40. Purchasing mass-produced decor from a big corporation and marking it up as something it’s not is completely unacceptable. Vendors should be required to have their items reviewed and approved before being sold, so buyers aren’t misled by products being falsely presented...
Read moreRounding up to 4. A cool place to explore with some lovely displays, but overall very disappointing pricing. Some great actual antiques mixed in with an overwhelming amount of new, mass produced merchandise, but most everything is laughably overpriced. Spotted a ~$20 lantern from target that I own, spray painted and marked at $70. It’s like they’re just guessing at value. Cheaply made decor pieces from Temu/amz marked up 400% abound. Unfortunately, this allowance makes one feel they’re likely to be duped throughout the store. My mother was an antique collector for decades and says the stores in her state are also crazily overpriced. I have visited this chain of stores for several years and antique and secondhand stores in general for decades, and the current pricing mindset is pretty arrogant and off putting. I hope this greedy practice gets turned back...
