RATED A 1 FOR LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE AND BAD ATTITUDE... NOT FOOD!! I have LOVED la Parrilla for years!!.. This is actually my favorite Mexican Restaurant....However, Chris or whatever her name is at the bar taking to go orders tonight just basically called me a liar!!.. I called to order dinner for me and my husband. I wanted to order two meals of shredded chicken tacos. 1 with flour tortillas and the other with corn tortillas and I specifically requested Charro beans (my fav). Chris informed me that I had to order shredded chicken tacos a la crate or if I wanted the meal then she could order the #10 that has two tacos and add taco to both. I then asked if I could order a large charro beans ( my fav) but she said that was not needed because beans come with the meal... ...I also ordered cheese dip , quac and asked for extra chips and salsa... she said it already comes with 3 bags of chips and salsa... told her I really only needed 2 bags of chips I mainly wanted more salsa. She responded that my husband can let her know how many bags he needed when he got picked up order. Now mind you, I am the one placing the order and know what we want. My husband drove in the cold over to pick up order... she actually charged him an additional $6.50 for chips and salsa. .I only wanted some extra salsa. When he returned home with NO charra beans (my fav)... , I was livid... I called and was disconnected... I attempted to call 5 more times and going to a voicemail that was full, she finally answered and asked how can she make my day better??.. I informed her that my husband just picked up my to go order and it did not include the charro beans She responds with zero apology...just that "I took your order and I specifically remember the call and you did not mention Charro beans. Only rice and beans."...I don't eat refried beans and have always ordered charro beans (my fav)...she says (with a condescending tone) "you or your husband can come back and we would be GLAD to give you some charro beans, but you did not order them.".. she was basically calling my a liar! REALLY?..over some beans!!... I was really calling to let her know she screwed up my order and for an apology ..I was not going to have my husband drive 25 mins one way in the cold for some beans!.. She was rude and insulting. She offered for me to speak with the manager...for what?...no need...just will not pay patronage to this...
Read moreMy coworkers and I went to eat here in bittersweet celebration of a manager leaving our department to pursue better opportunities for her within the company. During the ordering process, my coworker ordered a tinga quesadilla. I believe another coworker ordered a chicken quesadilla (unsure the difference) but there was confusion on La Parilla’s part. The food came out and they announced “chicken quesadilla”, my coworker specifically asked if it was tinga or not. The gentleman said yes and gave her the food, as he should if that’s what she ordered. Apparently, it was not hers and it should’ve gone to the other coworker. Our server, Brenda, got an attitude and stated in Spanish to another gentleman bringing out our dishes she ordered a different quesadilla so they needed to remake the other one. Very disrespectful and wrong. She then stated to the one who was missing her food that my coworker took her dish so they were remaking it, in front of everyone. Extremely unprofessional and rude, had this not been a work function I would have said something in response. But to avoid a scene, I did not. While we were a very big party - 16+ - there should have been a better system of getting dishes out accurately instead of blaming your customers. There is also a member of our party who is vegetarian and has 3 autoimmune diseases. Her order was looking questionable and when she asked what was in it as it was supposed to be potatoes, they could not tell her what it was. How do you not know what your menu consists of and what’s in your food.
Service was mediocre and could’ve been much better from Brenda and the staff assisting her. I would return if there was improvement and less attitude from the people...
Read moreIf anybody from corporate or the family that owns restaurant reads this review, please keep in mind that I have visited this and brought my family here to this restaurant for 20+ years restaurant. I eat here at least once a week and my family at least twice a week, but that is going to change and I hope all of my neighbors read this review.
Although the decor has been renovated recently, and the service remains very good, Maria, the manager, has told the kitchen staff to cut corners. The kitchen staff needs to be needs to be trained how to cook and prepare to their standards, as I often visit the one in Sandy Springs, which is much more superb.
From talking with the staff who we love, Maria has ruined this restaurant over the past year.
I ate there recently and complained about a dish that I always get and knew that something was different. They shrunk the portion and didn’t cook it properly, so I sent it back and guess what came back to me across the counter for the first time in 50 years? Maria brought the dish back to me personally and argued and told me the customer is not always right and she said more times than not, she is! She refused to take it back, instead choosing to waste her time arguing with me.
I could not believe her audacity… I’ve never had a restaurant bring the food back to me (especially by the manager herself) and say they weren’t going to help me or change it.
Arguing with the customer is one way to reduce revenue and lose loyal customers. I hope somebody from corporate reads this and send Maria back to where she belongs… managing ...
