Arts in the Sunset — Attraction in Amarillo

This is a unique place with local artists working in studios, and art school which includes glass, blowing and weaving. There are always beautiful sculptures and paintings on display and for sale. There's even a gift shop for smaller items like handmade mugs and other handmade items. Amarillo is fortunate to have such a place for creative individuals to get together in one place to form a community. Their first Friday art walks are a lot of fun. We were surprised to learn of this Amarillo artist's dream. A former mall is now the ultimate arts center in the panhandle. The massive layout is filled with individual studios, so many they encompass almost the entire alphabet. A complete arts center including: books, blown glass, clay, paint, sculptures, watercolors, and weaving studios. This is now the "Arts in the Sunset", and is absolutely AWESOME!!! We've taken several classes and workshops, and were blessed to be able to tour the Michael Angelo Exhibit when it was in town.
