I have revised my review to a more favorable one. I am happy to report that Amarillo Art Institute has changed their process regarding artists who submit their work to the galleries. It’s done in a more professional manner. Originally I expressed disappointment after one of my submissions was lost or misplaced and never recovered. My complaints did not settle well with Mike Lafleur and resulted in a nasty text message banning me from participation in any activities there. Oh well guess I’m still banned but I am grateful that the process has changed...
Read moreThis is an amazing facility with 16 artist studios and 21 artists in residence at Arts in the Sunset. Then there are spacious studios for interacting and learning painting, weaving, clay, glass and more. Art classes and kids camps are ongoing. Currently there is a Sistine Chapel exhibition bringing the world to Amarillo. Come and visit this local gem and meet the great people who make this creative space happen. Our instructors, Margie and Tory, were amazing—so fun, patient, kind, and absolutely hilarious! They made the entire process enjoyable and approachable.
Although I was nervous at first, I finished the season feeling inspired and confident in my ability to grow creatively.
