If you are a history buff, Old Economy Village is the place four you! Others who would find the Harmonist community fascinating would be students of architecture, as well as arborists, horticulturalists, photographers and artists. Old Economy offers very entertaining special and seasonal programs such as a "Halloween" haunt hunt, Christmas celebrations with decorations and lighting, and many more. It is well worth your time and effort. Programs are comparatively inexpensive; as example, the Halloween program costs only $16 per person (money well spent). Check their website for calendar events, hours of operation and more. If you're in the area, take a well-deserved break and come away with very special memories. By

We visited today for the Bicentennial and had a great time. There was lots to do and every building was open for a tour. Everyone was very kind and took the time to engage and talk with us about the society. There were lots of vendors, an indigenous speaker who told wonderful stories, and even a printer demonstrating his skills. Even my kids had a great time! Some of these rooms were also used in the movie The Pale Blue Eye.

I came for the Harvest Festival October 2, 2022. It was fantastic! The tours were wonderful and informative. The demonstrators were enthusiastic and made me feel just as excited about topics I knew little about. The gentleman with the printing presses was absolutely delightful!!! Great event and the entire grounds were amazing!

Visited on a non touring day and they gave us total access to all the buildings. And I will share my photographs with you want a beautiful place? It was basically a lutheran outcropped Commune type living arrangement definitely worth looking into the history of it. It's very interesting. George Rapp was the founder.
