Beer selection is ok, food is excellent, service is excellent, and I'm legitimately impressed with this joint!
We came into town to make a purchase from a local on Facebook marketplace. I asked her what is the best thing to eat while we're in town and she recommended Bridgetown Taphouse.
We ordered:
-several different beers, meh
-scotch eggs, fantastic and the spicy sauce had a surprisingly nice kick
Bridgetown burger, fantastic, the burger had that incredibly tender and buttery texture like a burger from a Cameron Mitchell restaurant. Thick bacon, quality ingredients, and I slathered that leftover spicy sauce from the scotch eggs all over it, taking it up another level. Wow.
Reuben sandwich, I believe this was probably the best Reuben I've ever had, and shockingly from an unassuming little tap house in small town Pennsylvania. Wow.
a dozen wings, good solid sized wings, cooked exactly right with a nice crisp and hot juicy meat. I asked for the hottest sauce and was advised the 'extra hot' is Frank's red extra hot enhanced with jalapeno and ghost pepper. I'm not convinced there was proper ghost pepper in there but it did have a kick above the threshold of either jalapeno or Frank's extra hot. Very good wings.
seasoned fries, excellent
tortellini chicken soup served at a proper hot soup temperature which is rare and refreshing, the soup tasted like fresh herbs and chicken with decent tortellini in it. Great.
Everything we tried was great, I would recommend all of it and order all of it again.
The service level was also noteworthy. Our server Teeghon (that is the right spelling, I asked him how to spell his name for my review since I was so impressed with his service) was fantastic. He anticipated all of our needs, he was quick, professional, friendly, patient, precisely accurate, and on point. Those are all of the prudent server/bartender skills that can be learned and trained. Teeghon also has a warm inviting demeanor, very well tuned social skills, and an upbeat, confident, and humble attitude. These are the qualities becoming of an exceptional server/bartender that can't be trained, you've either got them or ya don't, and my guy Teeghon has them in spades. Super impressed with this kid and I think he would make a boat load of money at a high end bar or restaurant in a bigger city.
All things considered my expectations were blown away at Bridgetown Taphouse, this recommendation left us in a great mood for our drive back to Columbus, and I have to imagine my local guide is correct: this probably is the best thing to eat in town. A well earned and solid 5/5. Thanks,...
Read moreI worked all day and I got off And I thought I would buy a couple burgers for my family. We got the mushroom and Swiss and the Bridgetown taphouse burger. We are big burger fans every burger we have ever gotten came with lettuce, tomato, and onion, sometimes even a pickle. I live about 15 minutes away from the taphouse. When I arrived inside the bar I was greeted. I was given my food and I tipped $7. I get home and there’s no lettuce, tomato or onion that I ordered and asked for. Then I then call the bar And asked them if I could please come back and get my lettuce, tomato and onion that I asked for. It’s supposed to come on the burger and they said no it doesn't. I went to the bar and got my veggies. I’m in there one of the bar ladies says that she’ll help me, but I stood there and waited five minutes. By time I got back home my fries and my burger was cold that I had to pop it in the oven. The next day I called the manager, and another lady answered, and she told me that she would be more than happy to get me a new burger that was hot and ready since I had to eat a cold burger . She told me to call back around 2 o’clock, so I did did. When I called, she told me that neither of the burgers come with lettuce, tomato, and onion. I told her that it should because burger comes with those on it. Plus I asked for it the night before. She then put the manager on the phone and he was very rude to me. He told me that I was banned from the restaurant only because I got a cold sandwich with no lettuce, tomato onion on it. All it was was beef, patty, mushroom, and cheese. I got the mushroom and Swiss burger. The owner or manager seems like a hothead, not sincere at all, especially with it being so close to Thanksgiving. I will remember him. I would never go to this restaurant. I’m honestly glad I was banned because I’m not going to let someone treat me so fairly and with so much disrespect. I have many family members that pay a lot of money each week in those bars. It’s just not cool they just lost 20 customers because I’m calling everyone that I know of. Happy...
Read moreMy fiancé and I are trying new, local, non-franchise places to eat. Last night she picked this place.... and hit a home run, first off our waitress was awesome (the name on the receipt was Camille) very professional and informative since we let her know it was our first time there. After beverage selection, I decided on a burger while my fiancé went with the chicken sandwich both were cooked perfectly and full of flavor, and we ordered the pickle chips as a late add on appetizer. Since it was busy we were informed our pickle chips would be out with our meals( our fault for ordering late). The problem with that is, if you could call it one was the pickle chips were probably one of the best I have ever eaten. They were incredibly thin and each one was the same size and were seasoned and cooked perfectly. I knew from the first bite they were made in house which was confirmed by our waitress. I decided then and there that my fries ( which were good in their own right) stood second fiddle to the appetizer. Also added the gravy for my fries which was another tasty option. If you like pickle chips and/or good sandwiches give this place a shot. I bet you won't be...
