Edit After leaving the below review and giving Hello Sugar 2 stars, the company reached out to me and offered a complimentary sugar to make up for my bad experience. I went again today and it was a night and day difference! Tyler did an amazing job. She was professional and thorough and just a fun person to be around! She definitely deserves the 5 star rating!

I went here for the first time a few weeks ago for a sugaring of my legs and underarms, and felt like my experience was pretty subpar. The girl doing it kept complaining about how much it was hurting her hand and was not so subtly hinting that she wanted me to switch to a wax instead of sugaring. I was clear that I've done both and that I preferred sugaring, but she still kept complaining and frequently pausing to stretch her hands. She is probably just inexperienced, but if that was the case, she shouldn't have handled an appointment that was too much for her. As far as a the wax goes, it went great. I felt comfortable and love the results. However, after having some car trouble, I was able to call a receptionist (not the AI text scheduler) who confirmed she moved my appointment from 10:20 to 10:25 and said there’s a grace period until 10:35. No problem. The appointment was scheduled to end at 10:55.

I got there at 10:30 and we started right away. We finished two services by 10:43, but the esthetician said we wouldn’t have time to do my brows so we’d have to cancel or reschedule. Unfortunately, I don’t live close by and took time off work, so it wasn’t possible for me to return a few hours later. I appreciate she didn’t want to rush, but it was frustrating not having the receptionist and esthetician on the same page and having a service canceled that we had at least 13 minutes to do. So the service was five stars but the scheduling/coordination was 2-3 stars.

Also, it was concerning to me that I had to personally close the door to the one-room studio and it wasn’t locked (at least that I noticed). Definitely not the privacy I would expect...

Was so excited to come here after reading the reviews but holy cow was this awful. First of all, I showed up and there was no one there for at least five minutes. When the technician did show up, she literally STAYED IN THE ROOM for me to get undressed - have never had that happen before and it felt extremely awkward and unprofessional. The wax itself was abysmal. At one point I obviously flinched in pain from the wax, and she said “oh is it too hot?” I said yes, and then she kept putting it on anyways??? I discovered afterward that I had literal burns on my skin in that specific spot that are now peeling. On top of all that, it hasn’t even been two weeks yet and half of the hair has either completely grown back or is ingrown.

EDIT - absolutely no one has reached out to me from their “team” as claimed in their response to this. I’ll keep patiently waiting though, just like I’m still waiting for my damaged, irritated skin to heal from...
